Shaikh Abdol-Hamid in the Friday sermon:

Going to Extremes in Religious & Material Life Condemned

Emphasizing on justice and condemning extremism, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader called people and governments on mutual respect, caring each other’s rights, listening to each other and forbade from extremism.

Talking to Sunni worshippers in Zahedan’s biggest Friday gathering on Sep. 10, 2021, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “Unfortunately, extremism has spread in the world today and some Muslims have also been involved in it.

Misunderstandings of Islam have led some Muslims to go to extremes. It seems that the extremists want to go ahead of Allah and the Prophet PBUH and to be more pious than the Prophet. While Allah warns the Muslims and says: O you who believe, do not go beyond God and His Messenger”.

Imam Of the grand Makki mosque of Zahedan continued: “Once a group of companions decided to engage only in individual worships such as fasting, recitation and etc. leaving the rights of their children and families behind. When the Prophet was informed of their decision, he strongly discouraged them from that decision and said: I am more pious than you; if it was the right way, I would do it”.

“As the Prophet took care of the companions to prevent them from extremism, he also took care of them not to become weak in practicing the rules of Islam. Today many Muslims commit sins and wish to enter the paradise; it’s absolutely wrong”, said the president of Darululoom Zahedan.

Emphasizing on justice and moderation in all aspects, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said: “Justice is the path of the Qur’an, Sunnah and the righteous caliphs. Our religious leaders were on the path of moderation; they weren’t indifferent to the situation of the world, nor were they extremists”.

“The capacity of Islam is very high; different schools of thought and tendencies are tolerated in Islam. The event of the conquest of Makkah is an example of the Prophet’s tolerance, his high capacity and broad mind”, the eminent Sunni scholar of Sistan-Balochistan said.

He added: “The Prophet forgave all those who had fought against Muslims and those who had martyred his companions. Many polytheists, Jews and Christians lived in Medina in the neighborhood of Rasoulullah PBUH; they were safe until they broke the covenant with the Muslims. The hypocrites who conspired against the Muslims were also condoned by the Prophet PBUH”.

“All Muslims, including scholars, academics and experts should have a high capacity and follow the Qur’an and Sunnah. All should avoid extremism. The Noble Qur’an advises Muslims to observe justice even for the enemies. The enmity shouldn’t cause injustice, but the right of the enemy should be given”, said the prominent scholar of Zahedan.

President of Darululoom Zahedan emphasized: “Nations and government administrations must respect each other’s rights. If a ruler says the truth, it must be accepted, and if the people make a legitimate demand, their demand should also be met”.

“I always advise the people of Iran and the administrations to respect each other’s rights. I believe that both the nation and the government have the rights that must be addressed. If there is a shortcoming in the government, I remind the government to fix it. I also advise the nation to respect the rights of the government. This is justice and moderation,” he added more.

Afghanistan’s crisis should be resolved through negotiations
Addressing the new government of Afghanistan, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said: “The new administration of Afghanistan and the Islamic Emirate should listen to different ethnic, religious and political groups and meet their legitimate demands”.

“A political system has been torn apart in Afghanistan and a new Islamic system has come to power. This system should be given time and opportunity to build the country and arrange the affairs”, said the president of Darululoom Zahedan.

“I’d like to suggest all parties and wings in Afghanistan to solve their problems through dialogue and negotiation in the light of the Qur’an and Sunnah, not through war and conflict”, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid addressed the Afghan people and political activists.

“Talk to each other and tolerate each other. Do not try to destroy each other”, he urged.

“Negotiation is the best way to get rid of the crisis in Muslim countries and all over the globe. Negotiation eliminates enmity”, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid believed.

The most outstanding Iranian Sunni leader urged on the importance of knowing enemies accurately and being aware of their plots. He said that Muslims shouldn’t be provoked by propagandas of the enemies and shouldn’t take sides against each other.

The new administration of Afghanistan should include all communities in the government
Addressing the Islamic Emirate, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “Appoint trusted academic elites and Ulama in key positions for running the country; the personalities of different communities who have honesty, fiduciary, commitment and scientific expertise”.

“I hope that the new government of Afghanistan will hire qualified academics into senior positions”, said the eminent Sunni scholar of Iran.

Emphasizing on respecting women’s rights, he said: “Today’s women aren’t the women of the past; today women have gained knowledge, skills and motivation. They want to grow in the fields of science and in social grounds.”

“The governments have a duty to address the legitimate demands and concerns of women”, president of Darululoom Zahedan urged.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said in his last points: “All tendencies and ethnic groups must be tolerated, respected and engaged in government posts. By using the high capacities of Islam and by following the Qur’an and Sunnah, Muslims can be the best role models for the world in different areas”.
