Mawlana Abdol-Hamid speaking at the Zahedan Friday prayer gathering:

A “Just Agreement” is Essential for the Interest of the Country and the Nation

Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, during the Friday prayer sermon on May 8, 2026, in Zahedan, described the difficulties of the public economy as beyond imagination. He stated that the most important responsibility of the officials is to protect the nation and national assets.
He emphasized the necessity of reaching a just agreement with the other side and avoiding provoking the feelings of the world’s nations against Iran.

Now Some High-ranking Officials of the Country Also Talk About a Just Agreement
He added: Before the war began, I warned about its consequences and emphasized negotiations. If a timely agreement had been reached, our nuclear infrastructure, which was a major national asset, would not have been destroyed, and the country would not have lost many of its important commanders and political figures.
The Zahedan Friday Imam said that we do not say our officials are to blame, but rather the blame lies with the other side; however, our position is that even if you are in the right, you should achieve this right with wisdom and strategy. Now is not the time to demand all rights, but rather there is a need to take one step back in politics in order to move a few steps forward. The Iranian nation has been enduring harsh sanctions for the past twenty years, and these sanctions can be lifted through a just agreement.
Shaikh-ul-Hadith Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, referring to the Peace of Hudaybiyyah, said that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) accepted the harsh and ignorant conditions of the polytheists to prevent war and bloodshed and signed a ten-year peace treaty. Allah Almighty declared it a “clear victory” because it stopped the bloodshed and paved the way for the spread of Islam.

In the Current Situation, the Victor is the One Who Can Stop the War
He said: The truly brave person is not the one who gains superiority in war, but the truly brave person is the one who can manage the crisis. In the current situation of the country, the brave, the commander, and the victor is the one who first stops the war and prevents further loss of life and property to the country and the people, and secondly, bows before his own nation, listens to the people’s words, pays attention to their demands, and places himself at the disposal of the people; this causes the satisfaction of Allah and the people.
The outstanding Iranian Sunni scholar added: I do not say we should kneel before the enemy; rather, wisdom, politics, and strategy should be used against the enemy.

Do Not Provoke the Feelings of Other Nations
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, continuing his talk, emphasized avoiding provoking the feelings of international nations, and said: My sincere suggestion for the officials is to avoid those actions and measures that provoke the feelings of the world’s nations and people and create suspicion in their hearts about us Iranians.

The Closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the Naval Blockade Should End Simultaneously
The Friday Imam of Zahedan added: The Strait of Hormuz should be opened and the naval blockade should be ended.
He said: My suggestion is that the Iranian and American sides should end the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the naval blockade at the same time; this matter does not require negotiations.
He pointed out that it is a Shari’ah and juridical rule that an ancient thing should be left in its ancient state, meaning whatever state something was in since ancient times, it should remain in that same state. Benefiting from seas and waterways is the right of all humans, regardless of which country’s territory they are in, and it is not appropriate to block these benefits.

I Am a Well-wisher of the Homeland and the Iranian People / The People’s Economic Problems are Beyond Imagination
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid added: I am a well-wisher of the country, the homeland, and the people, and I am saying these things based on sympathy and goodwill. The Iranian people, whom we all respect and to whom the country belongs, have protested their problems in past years and wanted changes in the policies that have caused a deadlock in the country and made lives difficult.
He added: The Iranian people even gave their lives for their demands, but now since the country is in a state of war and special conditions, they are silent while understanding these conditions; otherwise, the economic and livelihood problems of the Iranian people, including women, men, laborers, and traders, are beyond imagination.

I Wish Officials Also Heard the People’s Cries and Took a Step in this Regard
The most influential Iranian Sunni leader added: An official had said that the people should be patient because of such and such issues and problems. I wish you officials also heard the cries of these people and took a step toward their demands, whereas the great figures of the religion of Islam, whom we all take pride in, used to listen to the people’s words.

Islam Brought Justice, Fairness, Equality, and Brotherhood
Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, in the first part of his speech, referred to the critical situation of humanity before Islam, and said: At the time of the mission of the prophet-hood of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), injustice, class discrimination, and oppression of the weak classes of society, especially women, were at their peak in the world. Allah Almighty sent the religion of Islam and the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) so that justice, fairness, equality, and brotherhood would be established in the world and class discrimination would end. In the sermon of the Plain of Arafat, the Prophet (PBUH) declared that all humans were born from Adam (AS) and Adam was created from dust, and there is no difference between Arab and non-Arab, Black and White, Quraishi and non-Quraishi people.
He added: The religion of Islam eliminated all differences, hatred, and grudges and established human dignity and honor in society. In the religion of Islam, the criterion for superiority is faith, morality, and good qualities. With the arrival of Islam, oppression and discrimination were abolished in such a way that if the son of a ruler or the Commander of the Faithful slapped an ordinary citizen, he would be punished in front of the people and slapped in return.

In Islam, no Personality is Above Criticism
Khateeb of Zahedan continued by saying: In Islam, no personality is above criticism. Sayyidana Omar (may Allah be pleased with him), who was the Ruler of the Faithful and the Caliph of Muslims, used to be criticized openly. Once, on the pulpit, he criticized the fixing of heavy dowries in marriages. A woman from the crowd objected to his statement and said that Allah Almighty and the Messenger of Allah have not fixed any specific amount for dowry, and the determination of dowry is by mutual consent. Omar (RA) confirmed the woman’s statement and withdrew his own words.
He added: When the Roman ambassador came to Medina to meet the Ruler of the Faithful, Omar bin Khattab (RA), he asked the Companions, “Where is your king?” Sahabah said, “We do not have a king, but an Emir,” and in our government system, there is no monarchy.

In Islam, There is no Rule by an Individual
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid pointed out that in Islam, the government does not belong to a single person or individual. At the time of his death, Omar bin Khattab (RA) made a will and, addressing the Companions, stated: “Be careful that my son, Abdullah bin Omar—who was a capable and competent person—has no right to the caliphate or succession.”
He further added that in the early days of Islam, justice and fairness existed and everything was in the hands of the people; the people’s voice was heard and given attention.

The Religion of Islam Brought a Revolution of Faith, Morality, and Justice to the World
The prominent religious scholar said that the religion of Islam brought a revolution of faith, morality, and justice to the world, and it was this revolution that encompassed the globe. Big powers and nations bowed before this Islamic revolution and transformation without any compulsion, and the civilized people of Iran, Rome, and the rest of the world accepted Islam.

Islam is not Just a Title or a Label; a Muslim Must be Committed to Justice and Following the Prophet’s Path
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid finally emphasized that Islam is not just a title or a label for us to call ourselves Muslims and do whatever we want. Just as today, some people who consider themselves Muslims are involved in murder, oppression, robbery, kidnapping, and crimes.
He added: Today, the path some Muslims are following is taking them away from Allah, the Messenger, and paradise instead of bringing them closer. Therefore, all Muslims must follow the footsteps of justice, fairness, the life of the Prophet, and the Rightly Guided Caliphs, and while moving on the path of Islam, they should avoid bad qualities such as hatred, enmity, arrogance, and pride.
