Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid met the family of the ex-president of Iran, late Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani in Tehran yesterday.
The website of Shaikh Abdol-Hamid reported, he met the family of Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani in the house of the ex-president during his trip to the capital on Tuesday 1st August, 2017.
The rector of Darululoom Zahedan and one of the leading scholars of the Sunni community in Iran expressed his condolences with the family members of Ayatollah Rafsanjani.
In this meeting, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid alluded to the importance of Muslims’ unity and applauded the positive role of Ayatollah Rafsanjani in the “unity of ethnic and religious sects” in Iran and the world as well as his broad-mindedness regarding the “social issues”.
The family members of Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani also appreciated the struggles of Mawlana Abdol-Hamid for strengthening unity and fraternity in the Muslim world, especially between Shia and Sunni Muslims. They thanked the most influential Iranian Sunni leader for his presence in the Hashemi house and expressing condolence with the family of late Rafsanjani.
