Referring to the occasion of the new year according to the Gregorian Calendar, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader said: “The holy Prophet Jesus peace be upon him was one of the first prophets of Allah.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid was talking to tens of thousands of people in Zahedan’s biggest Friday gathering on December 29, 2023.
He added: “The birth of the Prophet Isa was a miracle. Allah gave birth to him without a father from a mother. Jesus, peace be upon him, was a close and blessed servant of God and His Messenger.”
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid continued his speech by saying: “The people of the book (Jews and Christians) went to extremes about Jesus; Jews slandered Jesus and Christians called Jesus as God or as Son of God. The holy Qur’an resolved all the differences among the previous nations. Many Christians accepted the truth. In the first Hijrah, the Muslims migrated to Habashah when Jafar ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, recited verses from Surah Maryam in response of the king of Habashah regarding the Muslims’ view about Jesus; the king was impressed and said What the holy Qur’an says about Jesus is true.”
“Allah has answered all the disputes of Christians and Jews in the holy Quran. Allah says in the Qur’an that Jesus was not God, but a servant of God.
The holy Quran judges between right and falsehood and the judgement of the holy Quran is right. We Muslims have a great wealth like the holy Quran. Of course, this book belongs to all people. The holy Torah and the holy Bible and all the prophets belong to all humans. After the revelation of the holy Qur’an, which is the summary of all the past divine books, the religion of Islam replaced the previous religions. Anyone who chooses a religion other than the religion Islam, will not be accepted from him/her, “said the president of Darululoom Zahedan.
“After the dispatch of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, no one can reach Allah through other religions. All the prophets spoke of humanity and were a mercy to all human beings. The Prophet Muhammad was a mercy for the entire world. As Muslims, we must be a mercy to all people. Let’s implement the morals of the prophets in our lives and maintain the dignity of all human beings, “said the eminent Iranian Sunni scholar during his Friday sermons of Zahedan.
Religious and ethnic conflicts and discriminations are signs of ignorance
The Iranian top Sunni cleric went on to denounce religious and ethnic prejudices, by saying: “Religious and ethnic conflicts are signs of ignorance and far away from the teachings of Islam. The spirit of the religion of Islam is against these issues. Maybe today many things are done in the name of religion which are contrary to the religion of Islam and the spirit of religion hates such things.” Islam calls on for equality, justice and humanity. The religion of Islam raises capacities of people. Just as the holy Prophet was a mercy to all the worlds, we should act as the Prophet peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his Companions did, the Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan said.
Authorities should solve economic problems with determination
The most influential Iranian Sunni leader referred to the critical economic and livelihood situation in Iran. He called on the authorities to solve the economic problems by adopting right policies and taking wise and serious decisions.
Poverty is the root of many corruptions and sins and leads to apostasy
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said during his Friday sermons of Zahedan: “Poverty may remove the piety and spirituality from human beings. The holy Prophet peace and blessings of Allah be upon him used to seek refuge in Allah from poverty. Poverty threatens the security and peace of society. Poverty is the main cause of many sins, including theft, kidnapping, banditry so on.”
“Allah Almighty said to the Prophet: if you want, I will make the mountains into gold for you, but the Prophet did not accept. They were true leaders. The holy Prophet, his children and Companions did not betray or abuse even a single Rial from Baitul Mal/treasury. It was impossible for the Companions to abuse the national capital of people. The Caliph Ali, son-in-law of the holy Prophet, lived in hardships. Among the Prophet’s sons-in-law, only Uthman was a rich person. When Uthman came to the caliphate, he built Masjid al-Nabi with his own capital. He spent his capital for people in public ways, said the president of Darululoom Zahedan.
“Poverty is very dangerous and the root of so many corruptions in the society. Poverty leads to bribery, usury transactions, and so many plagues in the society, “he believed.
Poverty is the result of decline in the value of the national currency
The Friday Imam of Zahedan continued his speech by saying: “Poverty has spread in the country. Most people have been suffering from poverty. The fall in the value of the national currency is the result of Poverty. Today the people of Iran are struggling with economic problems. All classes including teachers, workers, pensioners and employees are affected, said Shaikh Abdol-Hamid.
Problems will not be solved without adopting right policies
The famous Sunni scholar of Iranian Balochistan urged on changing policies and said: “In the current situation, the authorities should make serious decisions to solve the problems. Officials must respond to the people’s demands. Why the state of the country’s economy is not organized? If domestic and foreign policies are revised, many problems will be solved. National interests belong to the nation. If we do not change the policies, the problems will increase day by day. Regarding the economy and national interests, there should be proper planning.”
“All hands involved in corruption must be cut off. Only by punishing, corruption will not eliminate; there must be proper planning, “Shaikh Abdol-Hamid believed.
“National interests must return to the treasury and to the people’s table. The treasury should be protected by capable and competent people, the Friday Imam of Zahedan urged.
People should help each other in this difficult living condition
Imam of the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan advised the people to cooperate with each other and said: “I would like to advise people to help each other in this difficult situation. Sympathize and cooperate with people.”
