Calling on the authorities to ‘review some of their domestic and foreign stances’, the outstanding Iranian Sunni leader termed ‘religious freedom’ and ‘equality’ among the indisputable due rights of the Iranian Sunnis.

The official website of the office of Shaikh Abdol-Hamid reported, talking to thousands of worshipers in Iranshahr who participated in the graduation ceremony of Darululoom Haqqania and Shams-ul-Uloom seminaries on Friday 6th Jan. 2017, he said: “The enemies of Islam have been conspiring to weaken Muslims by sectarian and ethnic conflicts. We all should be vigilant.”

“The enemies have been trying to divide the territories of Muslims; even in the province of Sistan-Baluchistan they want to create disputes and conflicts. The enemies misuse such disputes and want to create more divisions,” he added more.

The Friday Imam of Zahedan underlined: “All Muslims belong to Islam, the Noble Qur’an and the Last Messenger. We should maintain our unity.”

Demanding ‘review in some state stances’, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said: “The current circumstances demand the officials to review some of their stances. Iranian ethnic and religious communities belong to this land; all should have equal rights.”

“The Sunni community of Iran has some legal demands, but they follow up this case through the channel of law, MPs, Ulama, officials, academics and the rest of classes of the society,” he added more.

The eminent Islamic scholar clarified more: “The situation of the Muslim world and international changes also need review in some past policies. The most important point is that there should not be any discrimination among communities. Giving equal attention to all sects makes the national unity stronger and foils the conspiracies of the enemies.”

“The biggest demand of the Iranian Sunni community is ‘elimination of differences and discrimination’. As well as, their religious freedom should be preserved in all corners of the country. The authorities should protect these liberties allowing Sunnis to carry out their religious rituals without any hesitation. Educating children, building mosque and prayer-house are the indisputable rights of Sunnis,” the recto of Darululoom Zahedan urged.

He asked the Supreme Leader to notice the case of the rights of Iranian Sunnis. He said: “We ask the Shiite and Sunni Ulama and ‘Maraje’ to broaden their views. The conditions of today’s world are different than past. We all should move ahead as the current circumstances demand.”

Leaving Islam made Muslims involved in sectarian conflicts
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid alluded in a part of his speech before thousands of Sunni citizens in Iranshahr, a city in the central part of Iranian Balochistan, to the problems of Muslims and said: “Some may not agree with this point; I think Islam does not resist Kufr/infidelity, rather it is against cruelty and injustice. Because the prophet PBUH inked up agreements with Jews, Christians and idolatrous Mushriks in his life. He, peace be upon him, fought with only unjust and arrogant people.”

“The summery of Islam is to clarify the truth and the false (haqq & batil) for the people everywhere and convey the message of Islam to them. No one is allowed to forbid its way. The motto of Islam is that there is no compulsory to accept Islam,” he added more.

Mawlana Abdol-Hamid expressed his sorrow on the conditions of Muslims and urged: “It is regrettable that Muslims are away from the guidance of Islam. This is the main reason of their sectarian clashes and all kinds of conflicts in the Muslim world. By acting upon the directions of the Qur’an and Sunnah, they can overcome their crises.”

Concluding his points, the chairman of the Coordination Council of the Sunni Seminaries in Sistan-Baluchistan said: “Everyone in the Muslim society should carry out his duty on the misdeeds going on in the society. They should enjoin to the good and forbid from evil. Islam has given us responsibilities and work hard for the reformation of the society.”
