Pointing out to the importance of the ‘outward’ and ‘inward’ cleanliness, the Friday imam of Sunnis in Zahedan termed these two points the tools of obtaining the pleasure of the Almighty.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said in his sermon of Oct. 28, 2016, “Before the rise of Islam, human beings were involved in various kinds of outward and inward filth and grime. People were involved in dirt like idolatry and fallen morally.”

“The Almighty bestowed mankind cleanliness and neatness of the outward and inward. The teachings and directions of the Noble Qur’an and Sunnah urge a lot on the both types of tidiness. Islam underlines on the outward tidiness (dress, body, mouth and etc.) and inward neatness (beliefs and moral). The initial verses of the chapter ‘al-Moddathir’ urges on the outward and inward cleanliness,” he added more.

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan further said, “When there was not any outward tidiness, Islam termed washing the whole body mandatory making it ‘Sunnah’ on Fridays. There are many verses and narrations which suggest Muslims to take a shower, dress in clean cloths and brush teeth to avoid bad smell of the mouth.”

“Toothbrush and tooth-stick have many advantages for health; many of the diseases have root in the filth of mouth and teeth. The Hadiths order us to clean mouth and nose,” he said.

Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan added more, “Islam is the first religion which enjoined for building bathroom and toilet. Ablution was classified obligatory for offering prayers. Ablution is called ‘wudu’ in Arabic because it brings brightness as its literally meaning suggests.”

“When we make ablution, all sins fall from the body. Wudu/ablution is not only a tool for the cleanliness of the body, but it also cleans inward, cleanses small sins and remits major misdeeds. Even it has been experienced that ablution normalizes high blood pressure. Thus the angry men are advised to make ablution.”

Mawlana Abdol-Hamid termed ‘repentance’ the best way for inward cleanliness and said, “Allah Almighty loves the repentance of His servants. According to Hadith, the children of Adam are all profuse wrongdoers, but the best of profuse wrongdoers are those who repent. Repentance makes the man clean of sins’ dirt.”

“Tidiness is half of faith. As Allah loves inward cleanliness, He loves outward cleanliness, too. The outward neatness has consequences on the inward neatness. The man who does not care his health and outward tidiness, he cannot worship his Lord neither he can manage his routine works. Thus the tidiness of the soul is related to the tidiness of outward.”

Quoting Allamah Shah Waliullah Dhilawi, may Allah have mercy on him, the Hadith teacher of Darululoom Zahedan said, “Imam Waliullah says Islam has been based on four points and pivots; ‘tidiness’, ‘submission before the Almighty’, ‘generosity’ and ‘justice’. So the inward cleanliness is an obligatory; without it mankind cannot get the pleasure of the Almighty. Purification of the soul is the biggest Jihad and effort on the path of Allah.”

At the end of his sermon, Khateeb and Friday Imam of Sunnis strongly urged on offering prayers in the beginning of the time, specially the two prayers of moon/Dhuhr and Friday/Jum’ah.
