Expressing his deep regrets on the critical situation of the Middle East, the eminent Iranian Sunni leader urged the world powers just follow their interests as ‘war on terror’ is bluff.

Talking to tens of thousands worshipers on the Friday gathering in Zahedan, Iran on Oct. 07, 2016, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said, “Muslims in the Middle East, especially in Muslim states have been facing very difficult and pathetic conditions which are tearful.”

“The Muslim refugees in the European countries face many problems; they are prone to change their tenets. Some missionaries want to make them Christians. It is a warning for all Muslims,” he added more.

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan alluded to the deplorable situation of Aleppo city in Syria and said, “People of Syria have been being massacred by the most modern and advanced weapons of the colonial powers. There are very tragic incidents take place in the Syrian cities, particularly in Aleppo. The so called super powers of the West and East have been massacring thousands of innocent people including women and children; their excuse is war on terror and extremism.”

He underlined, “The pretenders of fighting on extremism and terrorism tell lie; they have created sectarian disputes among Muslims engaging Muslim nations and countries in proxy wars. The main goal of those powers is to settle their dominion in the region and secure Israel. They want to uproot Islamic awakening and civilization replacing it with their decadent cultures.”

“The pretender powers claim to resist against extremism, but they do not want to resolve the crises of the Middle East. They could do so through political channels but they avoided,” the member of the Supreme Council of MWL pointed.

Mawlana Abdol-Hamid called on the audience to not be headless about the problems of the Muslim countries making Du’a for the solution of such crises.

Sayyidana Hussein revolted to defend Islam, justice
Pointing out to the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, may Allah be pleased with him, Khateeb and Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan said, “All of the companions and households of the prophet, peace be upon him, defended Islam during the caliphate of Abu-Bakr, Omar, Othman and Ali, may Allah be pleased with all of them, by supporting the caliphs and jihad on the path of Allah.”

“After the caliphate of Sayyidana Ali, the reins of the caliphate was handed over to Sayyidana Hassan, may Allah be pleased with them. As people of every time realizes the conditions of their era better, Sayyidana Hassan sagaciously decided to give the reins of the caliphate to Sayyidana Moawiah, may Allah be pleased with both of them, instead of fighting and bloodshed,” he added more.

The Hadith professor at Darululoom Zahedan pointed out to the then changes and said, “After the demise of Moawiah, may Allah be pleased with him, Yazid took the reins of the government who was not eligible for the caliphate and leadership of the Muslim Ummah. Many of the companions who were alive in that time did not recognized the government of Yazid.”

“When Imam Hussein, may Allah be pleased with him, felt Islam was in danger and justice was going to be uprooted, he revolted to defend Islam and execute justice. His revolution was against tyranny and autocracy. He never wanted to get worldly dignity and power; rather his reasons and motivations were Islamic and divine. Because Hussein was trained by the prophet and his elite parents, Ali and Fatimah, may Allah be pleased with them,” Shaikh Abdol-Hamid further said.

He termed Hussein bin Ali an ‘example for all Muslims’ and said, “All Muslims including Shias and Sunnis consider Hussein bin Ali an example. The love of the Households is in the hearts of all Muslims. The companions, may Allah be pleased with them, used to respect the family members and relatives of the prophet, peace be upon him, a lot.”

“The claim of respecting and loving the prophet, Sahabah and Ahl-ul-Bait is acceptable and influential only when we imitate their footprints and Seerah. The claim of their love and respect without carrying out religious duties is a false claim,” Mawlana Abdol-Hamid underlined.

Ahl-us-Sunnah’s tenets & jurisprudence forbid mourning ceremonies
The prominent Islamic scholar alluded to the juridical view of Sunni Muslims about mourning ceremonies and processions and said, “Many of Shias in some parts of Iran, where the Sunni citizens are in minority, think Sunnis do not love ‘Ahl-e-Bait. While, the love of Ahl-e-Bait is part of the Sunnis’ faith and tenets. There are many narrations on the virtues of the Households of the prophet PBUH in the Hadith books of Ahl-us-Sunnah.”

“We are not headless about what had been done with Hussein and his comrades, but there is difference in conceptions and understandings from the religious texts of the Noble Qur’an and Sunnah. Sunnis, on the basis of the Qur’an and Sunnah, believe a person should show patience on the time of calamity; the saints used to be patient and enjoin to patience on the difficult times,” the rector of Darululoom Zahedan made it clear.

He added more, “If we do not hold mourning ceremonies and processions for any imam, it is because our Fiqh and tenets do not allow us to do so. Despite many mutual tenets, there are some differences too among the Muslim sects.”

Concluding his points, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said, “We’d like to advise all Muslims to preserve the respect of each other and avoid from insulting the sanctities. Unity of Muslims is a very vital issue in the current time. Dispute destroys nations as the previous nations were destroyed due to disputes.”
