The outstanding Iranian Sunni scholar, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid, termed the Paris attacks ‘shocking’ and urged the incident make all worried, especially the Muslim world.

Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan began his Friday sermon of Nov. 20, 2015 by the Noble Qur’anic verse: «وَاتَّقُواْ فِتْنَةً لاَّ تُصِيبَنَّ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ مِنكُمْ خَآصَّةً وَاعْلَمُواْ أَنَّ اللّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ», (And fear the Fitnah (affliction and trial) which affects not in particular (only) those of you who do wrong, and know that Allah is severe in punishment.) [8: 25]

He further said, “Allah Almighty has warned mankind over unrests which may cover aggressors as well as oppressed people who have no role in temptations and unrests. In the recent years, the flames of unrests’ fire have encompassed the whole world. The international Zionism movement and Western powers have been successful in their plots and plans against Muslim states.”

Alluding to the Paris attacks, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid expressed his views and said, “The recent Paris attacks shocked the entire world; it made the Muslim world anxious too. No one is happy with what has taken place in France. Muslims expressed their condolences with the families of the victims, but the flames of this incident must not embrace the other regions and make the world more unstable.”

“My dopester has been that blindly attacks and bombardments in the Middle East would jeopardize the security and peace of many other countries; there is no any comprehensive and correct formula for peace and national reconciliation for the Middle East,” the leading Islamic scholar added more.

The member of the supreme council of the MWL urged on the unity of Muslim states and said, “The Western powers have made Muslim states busy in domestic conflicts and proxy wars. It is in accordance with their interests to get those countries away from unity and proximity. Unless Muslims are divided, their problems would not be resolved and the fire of wars in the Middle East would not be extinguished.”

“However there are different ideas in the Muslim countries, but the current circumstances need our unity; we must give something to get something to reach to any agreement. It is the way to resolve a big part of the crises in the Middle East. The Muslim states can reach to an agreement by sitting together on the table of negotiation.”

The Iranian Sunni leader alluded to the role of the UN in this regard and said, “The UN and the other big powers can resolve the crises in the ME by negotiation and logic channels, but they have not done so. Palestine has been occupied by Israel for decades. The Zionist regime has been supported by the US and other so called super powers; even it obeys them all the time. But they do nothing to stop the occupation of Palestine.”

“The Muslim states like Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan and other countries can easily find out solutions for the problems of the ME. But the big powers do not want to see Muslims unified.”

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan underlined, “The ongoing threat in the world is so dangerous and serious. In the blind bombardments, next to the militants, the oppressed and innocent people are targeted too. The question is that what is the guilt of men, women and children who lose their lives in the blind assaults and aerial attacks? Who is responsible for displacing of millions of innocent citizens?”

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid concluded his points by saying ‘all human beings are common in humanity and we are sympathies of all mankind’. He called ‘dialogue’, ‘national reconciliation’ and ‘formation of impartial regimes and governments’ the only way to get rid of the current crises.
