Talking to dozens of Sunni worshippers in Tehran, prayer room of Sunnis in Niyayesh Town, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid called “unity” one of the greatest achievements of the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.
The rector of Darululoom Zahedan reminded some aspects of the Seerah of the last messenger of Allah in his sermon before Sunnis of the Iranian capital on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014.
Comparing Muslims’ celebration on the Prophet Muhammad’s birth anniversary to the Christmas Day, he said, “We as Muslims review and remind the characters and virtues of the prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, on his birth day. But followers of some other religions celebrate the birth anniversaries of their prophets with various kinds of big sins; especially Christians celebrate the birth day of the prophet Isa (Jesus), peace be upon him, by sinful acts and misdeeds like dancing, drinking and nudity.”
In a part of his speech, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid introduced Prophet Muhammad ‘the greatest man of the history’ and said, “He, peace and prayers be upon him, has the highest rank among the prophets. He is the pride of the prophet Ibrahim and the rest of the prophets, peace upon all of them.”
Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah in Zahedan shed light on the circumstances of the era when the beloved prophet was dispatched before the devotee Sunni citizens of Tehran. He went on saying, “The messenger of Allah was appointed a prophet when the entire globe was suffering from misdeeds and wrong tenets. There was distance of centuries between people and divine revelation. Then the Sublime dispatched the best prophet with the best divine book as a mercy for all the worlds in the best city.”
Addressing the worshippers, he added more, “The Almighty has rewarded us the best of His blessings; the prophet Muhammad and the Noble Qur’an are two great blessings of Allah. You have such blessings, I swear, Europeans, Americans, Japanese, Russians and Chinese are deprived of them. If we imitate the directions of these blessings, Allah Almighty will bestow us the leadership of the world. We can be examples for people if we are real and perfect Muslims.”
Pointing out to the Week of Islamic Unity in Iran, Shaikh said, “A conference on the unity of Muslim Ummah is underway which shows Islam is the religion of solidarity and fraternity. Solidarity and unity are achievements of the last messenger of Allah, Whose mercy be upon him.”
At the end of his sermon, he urged on the audience to offer prayers on time regularly, saying, “Both Shia and Sunni Muslims should have tolerance; they can be good friends for each other. Muslims should not allow anyone to provoke them and misuse their feelings. They should strive to defuse the conspiracies of their mutual enemies. In this month, we must focus more on the life and sayings of the prophet, peace be upon him, and work hard to carry out our all religious duties.”
It is noteworthy, the sermon of Shaikh-ul-Islam was concluded by his sincere Du’a and tears of the audience who gathered in the prayer room from different towns of the city to listen to their leader. Due to insufficiency of the room, many of the worshippers took part in the gathering in the cold weather of Tehran sitting on the roof of the prayer room.
