Khateeb of Sunni Muslims in Zahedan shed light on the obscenity of misdeeds and negligence counting sins the reason of deprivation of the Paradise in his latest Friday sermon on Nov. 15, 2013.

Talking to thousands of worshippers in the southeastern city of Zahedan, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid began his speech by reciting the noble Qur’anic verse: «وَمَن يَعْشُ عَن ذِكْرِ الرَّحْمَنِ نُقَيِّضْ لَهُ شَيْطَانًا فَهُوَ لَهُ قَرِينٌ» [زخرف: 36], (And he whose sight is dim to the remembrance of the Beneficent, We assign unto him a devil who becometh his comrade.)

He said, “It is very shocking to see the awesome outbreak of sins in human societies. All of the sins are the fruits of negligence; people have forgotten the dangerous consequences of their misdeeds. Negligence makes people careless on the remembrance of Allah, then Satan overshadows on such people. But remembering Allah the Almighty takes Satan away of the man approximating him to the Lord.”

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan pointed out to some examples, saying, “If we witness different kinds of sins in the society that is due to negligence; human beings kill each other, Muslims kill other Muslims. When people commit sins continuously, they go forward and commit more and more misdeeds. It has been hard for Muslims to recite the Noble Qur’an, remember Allah and meditate on the Accountability Day; the reason is the conditions of hearts. The words of Allah do not influence anyone; because people think only to how collect more money and wealth.”

Counting ‘ignorance’ one of the main reasons behind misdeeds, he further said that when somebody commits sin, if he is a formal scholar, in fact he is an ignorant! Our father Adam committed a mistake and he was very repentant. The Sublime mentioned the story of Adam and Eve, peace be upon them, to remind us that any mistake can pull us away of the paradise and His blessings. Sins are followed by many concerns and divagations.

Urging on the importance of ‘repentance’, Khateeb of Sunnis added more, “Adam returned to Paradise after he was exiled; because he repented wholeheartedly. If we repent to Allah the Almighty and return towards Him, He will accept our supplication surely. Obedience makes the man prosperous approximating him to Allah. Nowadays many of the Muslims wish to enter the Paradise and reach to the rank of the saints without leaving sins behind, and repentance and correct worshipping of their Lord.”

Alluding to the devastating typhoons hit Philippines recently, he said people meet the divine punishment due to their bad deeds. The recent typhoon in Philippines which left thousands dead, wounded and displaced was a divine punishment. As well as the earthquake hit Balochistan in Pakistan was another divine punishment. Allah Almighty affects Muslims and non-Muslims by His punishments to show all that problems and crises are the fruits of people’s deeds and sins.

Demanding help from ‘super powers’ for peace an intellectual weakness

In a part of his speech before thousands of worshippers in Zahedan, southeastern Iran, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid pointed out to the demand of Iraqi PM, Nouri Al-Maleki, from the US over implementation of peace in Iraq, saying, “Unfortunately the crises in Iraq has been reached to sky high. Muslims in Iraq, who are brothers in faith and country, lose their lives daily. Regrettably influential leaders do not care the solidarity and fraternity with others in Iraq. I saw in media reports that the Iraqi PM had asked the US to help him in executing security in Iraq; it was shocking for me!”

He added more, “It is the clue of intellectual weakness of some leaders in the Muslim world as they seek security in their countries with the help of the US, Russia and Europe. It is so regrettable that Muslim leaders cannot resolve their matters by dialogue and foresight. If the US was honest in resolving the crises of Iraq, it would not have left masses fighting with each other. America must have played its role to bring Iraqis together before withdrawal.”

The prominent Iranian Sunni scholar stated, “The root cause of all crises in Iraq returns to the occupation of Iraq by the US-led forces in 2003. The US created disputes and exploded them cleverly to weaken different sides. It was our wish to see Iraq united and progressed after the downfall of Saddam regime.”

The same is condition in Egypt; Russian high delegation is in Egypt for finalizing agreements with Egypt to sell weapons to the Army. Foreigners do not want the Egyptian army to use those weapons against Israel; rather they want the army to fight with own people. The Egyptians must not depend on the foreigners and strangers. The colonial elements have been striving to empower their puppets in Muslim states. They never allow any independent and free man to rule on his own country serving Islam and Muslims, he pointed.

The member of the IUMS addressed the Pakistani rulers saying, “The Pakistani politicians and rulers should resolve their disputes via negotiation and mutual dialogue. They must listen to the masses and work hard to provide them their needs.”

He said the mutual enemy of Muslims wants to equip all rival groups in the region with weapons to ensure the security of Israel. “Taking the advantage of this small tribune, I would like to call on Muslim masses and rulers everywhere to be vigilant over the conspiracies; instead of begging security from the West and East, consultation with the Intellectuals, scholars and honest politicians of the society is must. Blaming each other, Takfeer (to declare any Muslim non-Muslim) and attacking the worship places like Masajid, and other public places are not solutions. Instead, all should sit on the table of negotiation and dialogue,” he underlined.

Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan emphasized on the importance of ‘unity’ at the end of his speech. He said solidarity was vital for any society. Sectarian clashes destroy honor, economy and sovereignty of nations. Thus the problems should be resolved discreetly by sympathy, open minds and foresight.

[It is noteworthy Shaikh Abdol-Hamid believes the main reason behind the recent clashes in some Muslim countries is not ‘sectarian’ as different sects have been living together peacefully for centuries; although the disputes were changed from political to sectarian then. Shaikh thinks if the different sects and communities of the Muslim states get their due shares in power and honor, many of the problems will be resolved in no time. By forming national governments the security will return to restive Muslim countries.]
