Shaikh Abdol-Hameed urged the truthful believers show patience in divine tests and forbearing believers are the real guided people.

He began his Friday sermon of the 3rd May, 2013 by reading some verses of the noble Qur’an: «وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنَ الْخَوفْ وَالْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍ مِّنَ الأَمَوَالِ وَالأنفُسِ وَالثَّمَرَاتِ وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِرِينَ* الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَالُواْ إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ* أُولَئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَوَاتٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ وَأُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُهْتَدُونَ» [بقره: 155-157], (Surely We will test you with a bit of fear and hunger, and loss in wealth and lives and fruits, and give good tidings to the patient. who, when a suffering visits them, say: :We certainly belong to Allah, and to Him we are bound to return. Those are the ones upon whom there are blessings from their Lord, and mercy as well; and those are the ones who are on the right path.)

Shaikh-ul-Islam alluded to various divine tests in human life and said Allah Almighty has decided to examine His servants due to some rationales. He has made humankind capable, granting them the aptitude of bearing such tests. Also, the Almighty warned His servants about the tests before, as you have seen in the above-mentioned Qur’anic verses.

There are many obstacles and challenges on the path of humankind in the worldly life; they face obstacles to reach the Paradise. Sometimes, attractive tools of the world and self-love take mankind away of the path of the nature. It is the root of many other misdeeds like usury, bribery and plunder, he further said.

Mawlana Abdol-Hameed declared the superego another abstruse challenge on the way of mankind’s prosperity. The ego of mankind is very foxy and cunning; it provokes and deceives humankind that Allah is the All-Forgiving and Merciful, you should enjoy the life and get pleasure. In this way, the self makes people involved in all sorts of sins. But the Sublime has warned mankind to be vigilant; the ego tries to misguide people. In fact, this is the reason of mankind’s superiority on angels as they are free of the test of ego. The paradise has been created for people not angels if they worship Allah sincerely without associating anyone.

He further said, “Diseases, calamities, threats, fears and damages in life and wealth; all are divine tests. Allah the Exalted wants to check His servants how much they are faithful. We see some people can not withstand such tests as they commit suicide. Weak people do not know the reality of their lives and they think they have been created to enjoy the life. When they face problems in their routine life, they see deadlock in front of them losing motivation to live. A real believer knows the cause of life is to worship Allah; if s/he faces any problem in life, so there is no problem. We must bear calamities and show patience.”

He counted obligatory worships tests of Allah Almighty. If believers carry out worships well, they would be successful. Salah, Hajj and Zakah come in the category of such deeds. When Jews heard about the obligatory of Zakah, they said ‘indeed Allah is poor and we are rich.’ They were not aware of the reality of Zakah and the rationale behind it. Allah makes us hungry to create the sense of sympathy for needy people. Many patients can not be discharged from hospitals due to lack of money –although it is an inhuman rule away of Islamic ethics– such patients need money extremely. We should not be failed in such tests.

Most of people in the world don’t know lofty position of Sahabah
In another part of his sermon, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hameed explained the high status of the companions of Holy Prophet, peace & blessings be upon him, pointing, “Most of people have not realized the grand position of Sahabah, may Allah be pleased with all of them. They were educated and trained by a unique mentor and perfect teacher, beloved prophet Muhammad, peace & blessings be upon him. Sahabah were graduates of the prophet’s seminary and school; if you gather all saints, Ulama and Mujahideen after them, they will not be equal to Sahabah. They got the directions of Islam from the prophet, peace be upon him, directly. It is a wrong comparison to compare today’s teachers with the prophet; for he trained his students in the best possible way. They were special servants of Allah who were successful in all tests of Him.

Indicating to features and lofty status of the first caliph, Abu-Bakr As-Seddiq, may Allah be pleased with him, he said Abu-Bakr is famous as the ‘cave-fellow’ of Holy Prophet, peace be upon him. He was enjoying a very great position among the companions, may Allah be pleased with all of them. He was very close to the prophet; before his departure, Holy Prophet said: “No doubt, I am indebted to Abu-Bakr more than to anybody else regarding both his companionship and his wealth. If I were to take a Khalil from mankind I would certainly have taken Abu-Bakr, but the fraternity of Islam is sufficient.” [Sahih al-Bukhari] Once Omar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said that he was ready to exchange his all good deeds with the only deed of Abu-Bakr in companionship of Holy Prophet in the journey of Hijra, migration.

Teachers carry important responsibility
Pointing out the national day of teachers and few other anniversaries in the country, Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah in Zahedan congratulated teachers the Day of Teachers. He said they have an important role in reformation of the society; they should educate the new generations in a fair way. Teachers belong to the good classes of the society.

Shaikh urged on women and Muslim sisters to imitate Fatimah and other daughters and wives of Holy Prophet not strangers.

Sunni MPs won’t remain silent over blasphemy of Sunni sanctities
At the end of his speech, the leading Sunni scholar alluded to his words in the last Friday’s sermon about insult of the second caliph Omar, may Allah be pleased with him, by a pro-government MP saying, “Some citizens ask when a MP insulted the sanctities of Sunni Muslims, why our representatives did not show any reaction? In fact, two MPs argued over a matter outside of the parliament house where Sunni MPs were not present. They were not aware of this shameful act; no one can insult Sunnis’ sanctities in any open and public courtyard of the parliament, if somebody does so, your representatives will not remain silent. They will defend your religious and national rights as much as they can hopefully.
