Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah in Zahedan, Shaikh Abdol-Hameed Ismaeelzahi, urged ‘close servants of Allah always depend on their real Lord in any situation’ in his latest Friday sermon on Feb. 15 2013.
He began the sermon by reading the Qur’anic verse: «إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ اللّهُ وَجِلَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَإِذَا تُلِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُهُ زَادَتْهُمْ إِيمَانًا وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ» [انفال: 2], (Certainly, the believers are those whose hearts are filled with awe when (the name of) Allah is mentioned; and when His verses are recited to them, it makes them more developed in faith; and in their Lord they place their trust.) explaining it, he said Allah’s greatness can be learnt by His great works and surprising creatures. Allah Exalted has created skies and placed in them constellations. He is the creator of the shining moon and stars. There is such an amazing and big earth that no one could have reached to its deep centre by excavation and digging wholes.
Allah Almighty has called upon the mankind to meditate on the creation of things by Him: «صُنْعَ اللَّهِ الَّذِي أَتْقَنَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ» [نمل: 88], ((such is) the artistry of Allah, who disposes of all things in perfect order), oh humankind! Look at strong mountains and vast seas, and big sun, moon and earth; all of these universal things have been created by Allah without any factory and laborers. Nothing has been created useless and aimless in the universe. But all of these great things are big in our sight; they are very trivial and worthless before Allah, Shaikh Abdol-Hameed added more.
Showing the grandeur of Allah Almighty’s features, the rector of Darululoom Zahedan pointed, “As Ibn Khaldun says analyzing Allah’s features by human mind is like weighing mountains by scale of a goldsmith, if we gather the audition and vision of the entire creatures, these drops can not be near to the comprehensive and boundless ocean of audition and sight of Allah Almighty. He says: «وَلَوْ أَنَّمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ مِن شَجَرَةٍ أَقْلَامٌ وَالْبَحْرُ يَمُدُّهُ مِن بَعْدِهِ سَبْعَةُ أَبْحُرٍ مَّا نَفِدَتْ كَلِمَاتُ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ» [لقمان: 27], (And if all trees that are on the earth were to be pens, and the ocean (converted into ink) is supported by seven seas following it, the words of Allah would not come to an end. Surely, Allah is Mighty, Wise.)”
After narrating the story of prophet Moses and his prophecy, he said that it was a big mercy of Allah on prophet Moses as He talked with Moses directly. Then Allah gave His blessings to the last messenger of Allah. It is the mere blessing and mercy of Allah that Muslims have been honored as their prophet was honored, Muslim Ummah is the chosen nation of Allah who obeys Him by all possible ways.
Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan added more, “If people present their needs before Allah, surely He will fulfill them happily. He has mentioned in the noble Qur’an: «وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُواْ لِي وَلْيُؤْمِنُواْ بِي لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُونَ» [بقره: 186], (When My servants ask you about Me, then (tell them that) I am near. I respond to the call of one when he prays to Me; so they should respond to Me, and have faith in Me, so that they may be on the right path.) Allah is not far of us; even He is aware of our secret intentions and prays. He does not need to pay attention to any particular region on one time; He listens all in one time and if He accepts all requests His treasury will remain full.
He further said Allah is needless; He does not depend on any one and any thing. If all humankind disobeys Him as Pharaoh did, it would not decrease His treasure. In the same way, if the entire human society becomes pious like prophet, it would not increase any thing to His treasure and divinity.
The eminent Islamic scholar underlined saying all Muslims should recognize Allah under the guidance of the noble Qur’an and sayings of Holy Prophet. His best introduction is available in the Qur’an and Sunnah. The noble Qur’an says when good servants of Allah hear His name and remember Him, their hearts get shaken. They do not remain heedless when they hear the words of Allah. We must recite the noble Qur’an all the time; at home, in office or car. Allah’s words are very influential and peerless; their effect on guidance of mankind is unique. The Qur’anic verses strengthen the faith and reliance of people on Allah.
At the end of his discourse, Shaikh Abdol-Hameed emphasized there are many individuals who depend on the support of ‘super powers’ like Russia, US and European powers; but the true believers of Allah are happy to be under support of Allah Almighty. If we want His support and help, we must obey Him in all circumstances. It is obligatory to obey parents until they do not ask for any work that is against the commands of Allah. Ask Allah directly for any need; He does not need advisor and assistants like rulers and directors. Allah is the creator and people are His creatures; they can not be compared. All prophets and the companions of Holy Prophet always asked Allah directly for their needs. Apart from Allah Exalted no one is worthy to be called and asked.
