Shaikh Abdol-Hameed Ismaeelzahi talked about the importance of righteous deeds in human life, in the Grand Makki Masjid of Zahedan, Iran, putting “correct tenets upon Allah” the criterion for acceptance of good deeds before the Almighty.

Delivering his Friday sermon to the audience, Shaikh recited the Qur’anic verse: «فَمَن كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاء رَبِّهِ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا وَلَا يُشْرِكْ بِعِبَادَةِ رَبِّهِ أَحَدًا» [کهف: 110], (So the one who hopes to meet his Lord must do righteous deed and must not associate anyone in the worship of his Lord.) He urged saying, “The human life is for the great purpose of worshipping Exalted Allah and doing righteous deeds. Other facilities such as eating, drinking and sleeping are the needs and tools of life. But the main aim of creation of human being is to worship Allah Almighty.”

Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah further said Allah Almighty accepts only deeds with correct and authenticable beliefs. If somebody has incorrect tenets about God, so his/her all good deeds go on astray. The best humbleness before the Almighty is only possible by the credible tenet of Tawhid, oneness of Allah; to believe Allah is the only creator of the whole universe, skies and the earth, mankind and all other visible or invisible things. Allah is the real king and other rulers are virtual ones.

The eminent Islamic scholar counted “learning useful knowledge” one of the correct ways to worship Allah, saying more, “It is obligatory for any mankind to get knowledge of how to worship Allah Almighty. When any deed is obligatory, it’s also necessary to learn how to bring it into action correctly. Knowledge (E’lm) brings clarity and shine while ignorance leads to darkness. We can worship Allah in a proper way only throughout the accurate knowledge.”

He added more saying that everyone should glorify Allah by good morals; bad temper and ethics are big sins. A human being should have good ethics, righteous deeds and sincerity avoiding hypocrisy and ostentation. Allah has created mankind for His worship as He says: «وما خلقت الجن والانس الا لیعبدون. » (I did not create the Jinns and the human beings except for the purpose that they should worship Me.)

Mawlana Abdol-Hameed pointed out toward “serving of people” and “execution of justice” as other factors of worshipping Allah, the Sublime. He said in this regard, “We must worship God by any tools; directly or indirectly by providing service to His creatures and implementing justice and equality. You can reach to Allah by supporting needy people as well as mosques and Islamic seminaries.”

“Time”; a precious divine gift:
In another part of his speech, Shaikh Ismaeelzahi alluded to the importance of time saying that “time” has an important role in ritual worships of Islam. The five-time daily prayers, Eid prayers, Friday prayers and sacrifice of livestock are the examples of worships which must be done on particular times. All deeds should be carried out on the proper time correctly. In some case, “time” or “place” has more virtues. Time is a valuable divine gift.

Indicating to the first ten days of the last lunar month, Dhul-Hijjah, Shaikh said, “Those who have not gained the virtue of Hajj, they should not miss the first ten days of the last Islamic month, Dhul-Hijjah. Observing fast, Sawm, a day of these ten days is equal to observing fast one year. As worships at these nights peer to worshiping Lailat-ul-Qadr.”

He underlined saying that worshipping in these holy days is an opportunity for Muslims. The righteous servants of Allah worship Him all the time in any situation. They are not heedless over the changes of their society; they enjoin people to the right path and forbid them from misdeeds. Such servants protect the commands of their Lord. These are also worships. Life is so short and mortal; no one should waste his life in useless works.

At the end of his discourse, Khateeb of Sunni Muslims in Zahedan asked the audience to participate in the Estisqaa prayers (congregational prayers for rain) on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 in the Grand Mosalla of Sunnis in Zahedan, Iran.
