Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah in Zahedan and the outstanding religious leader of Sunnis traveled to “Sistan” to participate some cultural and spiritual gatherings in Ramadan of 1433 (Aug 2012).
“Sistan” is northern part of the Sistan-Baluchistan province with more than 40% of the Sunni population.
The ceremony at the end (Khatm-e-Qur’an) of reciting Holy Qur’an in Tarawih prayers was held in 24th and 25th of Holy Ramadan in presence of Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hameed and a huge number of worshippers from faithful people of Sistan.
At the 24th night of Holy Ramadan, Shaikh Ismaeelzahi took part in the ending program of Holy Qur’an in Hirmand city’s grand mosque. He gave thanks to scholars, tribal elders and cultural activists over organizing the great gathering to honor Holy Qur’an.
He pointed that Holy Qur’an was the most comprehensive and complete divine book; this is the only path towards Allah. Holy Qur’an is treatment and cure for both body and mind, mundane and angelical sides. It removes mental problems and depression.
Shaikh Abdol-Hameed called on the officials in Sistan region to pay more attention on deprived areas. He said that they had suffered two difficulties; international sanctions and massive famine. Therefore, the vulnerable classes endure lots of financial and economic difficulties.
Shaikh in Khatm-e-Qur’an of Zabol city
The rector of Darululoom Zahedan participated in the ceremony of Khatm-e-Quran next night in the grand mosque of Zabol’s Sunnis. He urged saying that Allah Almighty had created human being to worship Him. But most of people have forgotten the purpose of life; mundane tools are their wishes and goals.
The member of the International Union of Muslim Scholars asked both Shia and Sunni communities to have unification and solidarity. ‘People of this region, Balochis & Persians, Sunnis and Shiites are known as ‘Sistani’! You should live peacefully side by side,’ he added.
Addressing the officials, he said, ‘We hope the local officials will not execute discrimination among Sistanis. All should have their due rights without noticing their sect and language. Discrimination in the fields of employment, social welfare and appointment of managers should be eliminated for ever.’
Shaikh Ismaeelzahi underlined saying that Sunni scholars were eager for mutual dialogue to resolve problems and possible disputes. All including scholars and academians must try to unite people more and give them chance to advance ahead.
