Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah in Zahedan, Shaikh Abdol-Hameed Ismaeelzahi, began his Friday sermon on August 31, 2012 by reciting holy verses of the Qur’an: “و ان لیس للانسان الا ما سعی و أن سعیه سوف یری”, (and that a man shall not deserve but (the reward of) his own effort, and that his effort will soon be seen) [An-Najm: 39-40]. He put legal and Halal income a tool for the guidance and good deeds.
Talking to tens of thousands in the Grand Makki Masjid, Shaikh Ismaeelzahi added more, ‘Allah Almighty has ordered His servants to struggle for two things; to get legal and clean livelihood and to make serious efforts for a prosperous life in the Hereafter. The Almighty praised in Holy Qur’an the one who strives for the Hereafter and called his efforts “grateful”.’
The rector of Darululoom Zahedan further said, ‘We must not sit workless at homes; rather we are supposed to struggle for Halal livelihood. There should be a move from us, and then Allah will bestow us from His endless treasure and mercy. If somebody does not work hard to gain Halal income, he would be compelled to beg and face disrespect. As well as, if someone denies striving for getting a prospering life in the next world, s/he would be ignominious on the Resurrection Day; Allah will punish such people as well.’
He emphasized saying that Islam was against panhandling. Holy Prophet said that the request for money (begging) would be a wound on the face of beggers on the Doomsday. Beggers would be resurrected while their faces would be free of flesh and skin; a face with mere bone is the ugliest shape.
Pointing out to some stories of Holy Prophet, peace & blessings be upon him, and his Companions, Khateeb of Sunni Muslims added more, ‘When the brilliant sun of Islam rose in the Arab Peninsula, most of the people were very poor and needy. The Islamic civilization showed them the good ways to get legal and blessed livelihood. Islam encouraged them to struggle for Halal livelihood; even many of the companions used to work for some Jews to earn their livelihood. They were not ready for asking others for money. It was the direction of Holy Prophet to earn money by selling and trade. He said it is better for you to collect wood and sell it than begging others.’
The eminent Islamic scholar explained some results of Halal livelihood saying that the best livelihood is own income which is earned by own struggle; then Allah will forgive such people even with their little deeds. If any body earns Halal carrying out Allah’s obligatory, Wajib and the emphasized Sunnah, he would be forgiven. Allah gives the guidance and courage for good deeds to such people.
He further said, ‘Islam’s economic policy is that everyone should try to be independent financially; even father and son should not depend on each other in financial affairs. So every body must work hard continuously.’
Mawlana Abdol-Hameed urged that there is no any wrong in buying and selling. It is not bad to earn and go to markets; the bad thing is begging. ‘Earn Halal and spend on others from your Halal income, especially on your children and neighbors,’ he concluded his points.
Unjust right of ‘Veto’ must be removed
In the second part of his speech, Shaikh Abdol-Hameed indicated to the NAM summit held in Tehran putting the right of veto for some particular countries unjust and despotic that should be taken off in his latest Friday speech in the Grand Makki Masjid of Zahedan.
Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah said more, ‘Although most of the participant states in the Non-Aligned have become “aligned” to any power bloc, but their gathering in the capital is glad news for Iran. Most of the big powers have been trying to marginalize Iran by imposing undue sanctions; nonetheless presence of the NAM leaders in Tehran plays an important role in fracture of Iran’s isolation.’
The outstanding leader of the Sunni community in Iran counted assignment of the NAM’s chairmanship for three years to Iran another achievement for the country.
He added more, ‘Speech of the leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, and his analysis over the powerless and powerful countries were important and considerable. As well as the discourse of the Islamist president of Egypt, Mr. Mohammad Morsi, was very impressive. Both of them expressed their support for the oppressed nations.’ -Mr. Khamenei supported Palestinians and Mr. Morsi supported both Palestinians and Syrians-.
The member of the IUMS went on saying that some of the leaders criticized ‘veto’ that is in the hands of some particular powers. The UN and its Security Council have failed to resolve crises of the world; they have insignificant achievements in support of oppressed nations.
He underlined saying, ‘Some nations have been massacring for more than 50 years; the UN could not stop bloodshed of the oppressed masses and obvious violation of human rights. ‘Veto’ that is under full control of some so called “super powers” is despotic; they misuse this tool to ensure their interests. These powers neglect the rights of oppressed nations across the world. The US, Russia, China and some other states slaughter innocent men, women and children carelessly to get their interests. Only because of veto, the UN and Security Council can not overcome crises and people’s genocide.’
Shaikh Ismaeelzahi pointed more saying that the circumstances over the globe have been changed; people are vigilant. So “veto” that is against democracy’s principles and it is a tyrannical tool must be removed.
Khateeb of Sunnis concluded his points by saying, ‘As a sympathetic and responsible citizen, I would like to recommend rulers and authorities to utilize this opportunity; they should strive to find a solution for domestic and regional problems of the country open-heartedly. A country that remained host for almost 120 countries, in the recent NAM summit, should look at internal and foreign issues from a wider landscape in order to salve the problems and give any practical remedy.’
