Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, in the Friday prayer sermon of June 11, 2026 of Zahedan, criticized the unprecedented inflation and rising prices in the country, emphasized the necessity of prioritizing national interests over individual and group interests, and considered addressing the livelihood situation of the people of Iran an absolute priority.
He also reviewed international developments, and while calling on global powers to end the war in the Middle East, he demanded the establishment of durable peace, the realization of the rights of the Palestinian people, and the security of trade routes on the Iran-Pakistan borders.

Necessity of Prioritizing Public Interests over the Interests of Influential Individuals
According to the media office of the Sunni Friday Imam of Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid stated in part of his remarks, referring to the conduct of the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) and the Rightly Guided Caliphs in prioritizing public interests over individual interests, that national interests and public security must take precedence over everything else. He emphasized that it is the duty of state officials to prioritize national interests over the interests of individuals, even those who are influential and powerful.

Addressing the Livelihood of the People; A Religious and National Necessity
He pointed to the critical economic situation and severe inflation in the country, and stated that prioritizing domestic problems is both a religious and national necessity.
He added that the rights of the people of Iran are the top priority and that no oppressed group in the world takes precedence over the rights of the Iranian people. He further stated that the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) said that when your children are hungry, you are not permitted to give charity to others.
The Sunni Friday Imam of Zahedan emphasized the need to stop the hands of profiteers and stated that Iran’s resources belong to the Iranian people and that certain individuals and companies must be prevented from exploiting national wealth so that it can return to the nation. He added that everyone is responsible for justice and security, and scholars must also strive to reform governance and social structures.

Seeking Peace and Opposition to War
The Friday preacher of Zahedan recited the verse “And if they incline to peace, then incline to it” and
referred to Imam Ali’s letter to Malik al-Ashtar in Nahj al-Balagha, stating that when the enemy leans toward peace, it should not be rejected because peace ensures security and comfort. He stressed the necessity of accepting peace and avoiding war.
He added that war is destructive and leads to the loss of national resources, noting that they had previously warned against the outbreak of conflict out of concern and responsibility.

The Middle East Needs a Just and Sustainable Peace
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid addressed global powers including the United States, China, Russia, and European powers, calling for initiatives to establish peace in the Middle East.
He stated that the Middle East is the vital artery of the global economy and requires a comprehensive peace in which the interests of all parties are secured. He emphasized the establishment of a just peace in which the rights of the Palestinian people are recognized, they have an independent state, and Israel refrains from violating Islamic lands while also having its own rights respected.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid added that a fundamental resolution of this issue would lead to the end of proxy wars and arms races, and no country would pursue missile and bomb production. He described economics and livelihood as essential human concerns and stressed that the world needs an understanding in which all people, whether religious or non-religious, can live and work freely, peacefully, and securely alongside one another. He also supported ceasefire proposals while calling for a permanent and fundamental solution to bring stability to Iran, Arab countries, and neighboring states.

Emphasis on Border Trade Security and Listening to the People
Another part of the sermon focused on the problems of traders and border residents. Mawlana Abdol-Hamid expressed serious concern over recent insecurity on border roads in Pakistan’s Balochistan province and the burning of vehicles carrying food and commercial goods.
He stated that due to difficulties in maritime trade, people are forced to use land routes, and insecurity on these roads has disrupted the lives of people in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province and Pakistan’s Balochistan province.
He called on Pakistani authorities to ensure the security of traders and urged the people of Balochistan not to let political disputes with the central government be a pretext for blocking transportation routes and harming the livelihoods of the general public, patients, and traders.
Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid concluded his remarks with a universal recommendation to all world leaders, stating that governments should listen to their people and resolve problems through dialogue and peaceful means.
