Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan urged on abidance with the Sunnahs and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and counted some outward and inward effects of them in his sermon of 1st May, 2015.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid began his latest Friday sermon by the Noble Qur’anic verse: «وَمَا آتَاكُمُ الرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانتَهُوا» & «مَّنْ يُطِعِ الرَّسُولَ فَقَدْ أَطَاعَ اللّهَ» and said, “Obedience of the Last Messenger of Allah is equal to obedience of the Almighty. As well as disobedience to the Prophet Muhammad is equal to the disobedience to the Almighty. Because whatever the messenger of Allah said, was from Allah.”

He went on defining the “Innovation”, Bid’ah, which is the counterpoint of “Sunnah” and said, “Innovation (Bid’ah) in Islamic terms is something that there is no any proof in the Qur’an or Sunnah to prove it and a person acts on it or believe in that act as a part of Islam expecting divine reward. Lexical innovation does not have any problem but innovation in Islamic orders by adding something new to Shari’ah is condemned.”

“The messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, has warned Muslims in this regard and said: «من أحدث فی أمرنا هذا ما لیس منه فهو رد», (He who innovates something that is not in agreement with our matter (religion), will have it rejected. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]) The religion is perfect and it does not need anything extra from us. Allah Almighty says: «الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ الإِسْلاَمَ دِينًا», (This day I have perfected for you your religion, and have bestowed upon you My bounty in full measure, and have been pleased to assign for you Islam as your religion.) This verse was revealed in Arafat at the time of Hajjat-ul-Wida’ (the last pilgrimage of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him),” he added more.

The Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan further said, “The messenger of Allah has called ‘adding something to the religion’ as innovation and warned about it. Although innovation apparently sounds well but since it is not in accordance with Sunnah, it is accounted from worst sins. Innovation is twofold; one heretical belief that draws the person to the brink of polytheism and Kufr. The second one is practical innovation that is observed in many jubilation and mourning ceremonies. Therefore, we all must be careful to comply with Shari’ah and Sunnah in all our deeds.”

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan stated, “The prophet, peace be upon him, said: “…so cling to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided caliphs after me, even if it be with your teeth.” [Bukhari] This Hadith mentions that the caliphate of the guided caliphs absolutely was in accordance with the Sunnah and way of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.”

“The Sunnah of the Last Messenger is not limited to Miswak (twig-made toothbrush) or beard; rather it has a very wide meaning that includes the 23 years life of the Prophet, peace be upon him. We must obey and follow the lifestyle of him in all aspects of our routine lives.”

The chairman of the Coordination Council of Sunni Seminaries in Sistan-Baluchistan underlined, “The Prophet, peace be upon him, in a Hadith said: ‘Whoever holds of to my Sunnah at the time of corruption of my Ummah, will get the reward of a hundred martyrs’. It is because he revives these Sunnahs when he might be ridiculed or insulted.”

Alluding to positive effects of acting upon Sunnah, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said, “The Sunnahs of the prophet, peace be upon him, have very positive influences on life of people. Applying the Sunnah multiplies the rewards of good deeds as it makes the person close and beloved to the Almighty. Allah the Almighty says: «قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللّهَ فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللّهُ», (Say, (O Muhammad, to mankind): If you love Allah, follow me; Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.)

He termed the ‘adherence to Sunnah’ the sign of love to the Last Messenger and stated, “It is the sign of affection to the Prophet that we try to learn all of his Sunnahs and bring them into action; it makes our society brilliant. Furthermore, the mercies and blessings of Allah might be revealed to us.”

At the end of this part of his sermon, Friday Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan insisted on religious upbringing and education of children, creating enthusiasm among them to practice the Sunnah of the Last Messenger of Allah.

Love of the Companions & Households of the Prophet, part of our faith
In another part of his Friday sermon of 12 Rajab (1st may 2015), Mawlana Abdol-Hamid alluded to the birth anniversary of Ali bin Abi-Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, and urged, “13 Rajab is the birth day of Sayyidana Ali which has been named “Father’s Day” in Iran. Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, is beloved and respectable for all Islamic sects. Sunni Muslims consider love of Ali and the rest of the Household a part of their faith.”

The Islamic council is one of the growths and eminences of the Islamic Republic regime
Pointing out to the day of Islamic Council, the Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan congratulated the day and further said, “The Islamic Council is one of the characteristics of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Council has been derived from the Noble Qur’an and Sunnah; this great book states: «وشاورهم فی الأمر»، «و أمرهم شورا بینهم»; (who conduct their affairs with consultation among themselves,) & (and consult with them upon the conduct of affairs.)

Indicating to the teacher’s day in Iran, the prominent Islamic scholar congratulated this day to all teachers and expressed his hope that the government and pertinent officials should heed “the due demands of teachers”.

Mawlana Abdol-Hamid also congratulated the international Labor Day to all workers and labors in his Friday speech, too.

At the end, he expressed his regret on the sudden demise of two graduates of Darululoom Zahedan, Molawi Azad Daryanaward and Hasan Shahbakhsh. He mentioned Molawi Azad, who lost his life in a road accident near Jaask city, Hormozgan province, as a ‘sincere and toiler’ scholar.
