Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan, Iran, termed “security and mental and physical health” two basic and very important needs of human beings in his latest Friday sermon of April, 24, 2015.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said, “Mankind needs two vital and very important things; first is physical and mental health and security is the second one. Human beings cannot live without these two needs. If a person enjoys all of facilities and welfare blessings, but s/he cannot get their benefits without health and peace.”

“A person can worship the Almighty easily and without any hesitation when s/he has no pain and fear. Sayyidah Ayeshah, may Allah be pleased with her, asked the prophet, peace be upon him, which Du’a she should offer at the Night of Destiny (Qadr)? The last messenger of Allah taught her this prayer: «اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ كَرِيمٌ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي», (O Allah, You are forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me.) It includes both the health of the mortal world and the everlasting world, too.”

Pointing out to the importance of “security” in life, the eminent Islamic scholar said, “A man who has no fear of anyone, he should bow down thanking the Almighty for this blessing. If a person is in prison or wanted to any government, all blessings and welfare tools would not enjoyable for him. The health of sprit and body has effects on the spiritualty life of mankind. A healthy sprit that is free of the dirt of sins, it leaves its results on the body.”

He further said, “Mankind has two angles; material and spiritual aspects. Physics and doctors treat the material angle while the treatment and remedy of spiritual angles is the duty of Ulama. Whatever the Islamic Shari’ah has forbidden it, it is useful for the body. As well as, sins bring dirt and affect the spiritual health of mankind.”

Alluding to the ongoing tendency of the world in this regard, the rector of Darululoom Zahedan underlined, “Most of the people around the world focus on their material life ignoring spiritualty. It is a blunder of mankind that neglect one angle and do pay attention on the other one always. We need both of them; developments must be carried out in material and spiritual aspects of life. We must be thoughtful on the correct and spiritual upbringing of our children as we are worried about their worldly life.”

Sins and Haram leave consequences on life
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid termed the existence of thousands of vices and misdeeds in society the ‘result of sins’ urged, “Usury, thievery, injustice, cruelty and illegal income affect the life badly. Haram is the worst income and sustenance. One the other hand, Halal and legal income is one of the big worships. Islamically illegal income and properties harm the spirit; when spirit is harmed it affects body too. Perhaps many of chronic diseases have been erupted in the society thanks to sins and disobedience of the Almighty.”

“A society must be washed out; there must not be any dirt of sins as well as things which affect the health. Cleanness is a part of faith in Islam. Muslims’ hearts and bodies should be free of outward and inward filths.”

Regretting on the outward and inward backwardness of Muslims, he said, “Many of Muslims misthink that Salah is Deen nothing else; while a complete Muslim must be abided with all principles and commands of Islam. Our all works, acts and tenets must be in accordance with Islamic Shari’ah and Sunnah. Even our behavior with non-Muslims must according to the rules of Islam and the method of the prophet, peace be upon him.”

Society needs reformation and purification
Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid indicated to the importance of spiritual reformation of society and said, “Unfortunately our society is full of weaknesses and the filth. We need to be reformatted and purified our spirits. Then the entire life would be changed. Thanks to efforts of the beloved prophet and his companions the society of their time became an ideal honest and pious community. Their exemplary behavior and moral caused many to embrace Islam.”

“By purification we can reach to the Almighty washing out all weaknesses and pollutions from the society. It is possible when we carry out our duties regarding other members of the society.”

Pointing out to the holy months of Rajab and Sha’ban, Khateeb of Sunnis called on the audience to take the advantages of these months and work hard to purify their souls and deeds.

At the end of this part of his speech, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid urged on the importance of ‘peace and security’ of the region. He stated, “There must not be any security problem for travelers and citizens. Development and all good aims can be achieved only under the shadow of peace and security.”

War is not a decisive solution
In the second part of his sermon, Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan welcomed cease of aerial bombing in Yemen and urged ‘war has not been decisive’ anywhere.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid alluded to the stop of aerial attacks on Houthis in Yemen and said, “We are happy that aerial assault in Yemen has been halted. We hope the people of Yemen would sit together resolving their disputes via political channels and negotiations.”

“War and military conflicts have not been decisive anywhere; if it is determinant, we have seen its positive results in countries where conflicts have been going on. War only makes problems more complex and complicated.”

Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan called ‘dialogue and formation of national and mass governments’ the only solution, stating, “The only way to get rid of crises in states where conflicts and civil wars are going on is sitting on the table of negotiation, dialogue and formation of national and mass governments. Legal and due demands of minorities and their freedoms must be recognized. If we look at the main reasons behind security crises in countries which are stuck by internal conflicts, we would conclude they have neglected due rights of minorities.”

Addressing the leaders of countries, the outstanding Iranian Sunni scholar said, “I would like to recommend all leaders, including our own officials, to pay attention to demands of people and their nations. It is necessary to listen to the voice of every member of any nation for developments of countries and rebuttal of the danger of separation.”

Concluding his points, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said, “The way for dialogue and political solutions must be paved; many of problems can be resolved by forming mass governments and realizing the rights of all sects and ethnic communities.”
