Shaikh Abdol-Hamid shed light on the important role of knowledge and science in the current world in his latest Friday sermon and mentioned ‘faith in Allah and thanking His blessings’ among the fruits of useful knowledge.

Talking to tens of thousands worshippers in Zahedan on August 29, 2014, he began his speech by the initial verses of the chapter ‘Alaq’. He said, “All have seen the importance of knowledge and science in the new world. There was a time when Muslims were pioneers of different sciences and leaders of the world; but gradually science left the Muslim world to the West and Europe.”

“If the West is developed and advanced, it is just because of giving adequate importance to science. Human societies can get advance via science and knowledge,” he added more.

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan cited the first verse of the chapter Alaq, saying, “Science can make human beings only with the name of Allah; if the knowledge is merged with the name of Allah, its affects can be multiple. Such knowledge can change hearts.”

At the end of this part of his speech, Shaikh said, “Knowledge can be useful and efficacious when it enforces the person to have faith in Allah and thank Him over His uncountable blessings. If we get developments without faith in Allah and giving thanks to Him, we should know we have not got any profit of that knowledge; such knowledge cannot free us from the divine punishment.”

Iranian Gov. Should Repel Self-made Rules
In the second part of his speech, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid Isma’eelzahi, urged on the implementation of the national constitution asking the government to repel self-made and outlawed rules and behavior of some personnel and offices in the country.

Alluding to the Government Week in Iran, he said, “We congratulate the government week to the president and his fellows. The ‘government of discretion and hope’ has repelled the danger of our enemies’ invasion and decreased the effects of the sanctions imposed by the West by nuclear talks. We hope the country and nation would get rid of the sanctions to launch their businesses and trades freely around the world.”

“Providing fund for two petrochemical factories in Sistan-Baluchistan, serious steps to bring gas in different cities of the province and start of railway tracks from Chabahar to Zahedan are also some mega projects of the current government,” he added more.

The eminent Islamic leader called on the officials to activate mines and make adequate and appropriate plans for the farmers providing them markets.

He said people suffer from unemployment; if the government activates frontier markets and industrial zones, it would decrease the rate of unemployment in the region.

Gov. needs to struggle to execute the constitution
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid reminded the eleventh government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, saying, “I would like to advise the government to not leave any stone unturned to implement the national constitution; it was one of the promises of the president Rouhani. The constitution is a national covenant which can ensure the rights and interest of the entire nation. Full implementation of the constitution can remove many complaints and anxieties of the people giving them many of their due rights.”

Khateeb and Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan further said, “I’d like also to ask the government to repel the self-made rules and behavior in the country. Nobody can violate the legal rights of others in the country by imposing self-made regulations; the rights of different sects and ethnic communities including Sunnis and Shias must not be violated. All must enjoy their religious, social and personal rights. We should defend the full execution of the national constitution; indeed the nation backs the government in this regard.”

Participation of ethnic & religious sects in the management of the country ends with durable peace and national unity
In another part of his speech, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid asked the government to materialize its promises over the participation of the isolated ethnic and religious communities of Iran.
He underlined, “I would like to remind the officials in the government week their promises on the engagement of different sects and classes of the nation; this case needs more consideration. By giving opportunity to the religious and ethnic sects, we can strengthen national unity and reach to a durable peace in the country.”

“When people are happy and satisfied with their rulers, none of extremist groups can misuse their anger in the society. The Sunni community in Iran believes in dialogue; we follow up the case of our demands and rights by peaceful and legal ways. Sunnis in Iran do not back any extremist group as they deny Takfir and extremism; rather they believe in fraternity, Islamic unity and peaceful struggle to get their due rights.”

He went on to say more, “As a Muslim and an Iranian citizen, each member of the Sunni community expects the government to repel the pressure of hidden powerful hands which do not recognize any right for others. The government should work hard to fulfil its promises regarding the rights of minorities neglecting pressure of illegal sides.”

The member of the International Union for Muslim Scholars expressed his regret over the ‘increase of bigotry’ in the country. He said, “Unfortunately, like the rest of the world there has been an increase of bigotry and biased stances in Iran. Some elements create problems in some provinces for people depriving them of their due rights and liberties. People should get their rights, and then we can protect fraternity and peace well.”

Why the Western politicians do not prevent tragedies before outbreak?
In another part of his speech, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid decried the ‘double standard’ of some Western states regarding ongoing crises of Muslim countries. He stated, “We witness rulers and people of some countries how they commit crimes; they only want power and position. These rulers think people of the world do not notice their bad deeds; if we do not have power, we have sane minds and wisdom to witness crimes of the arrogant states. The US and tyrant rulers in the Europe think Muslims do not notice their unreasonable crimes.”

Pointing out to intervention of the US in internal affairs of some Muslim countries, he said, “Now the US returned to Iraq and wants to enter Syria on the pretexts of protecting people; where was the US when the people of Syria, Iraq and many other Muslim states were suffering from massive crises? These defendless people have been suffering for years; they have been massacred and many have lost their homes. But the arrogant powers did not play their role; in the result, the extremist groups could strengthen their powers getting roots in the region. The question is that for what the UN and Security Council have been established? Why Muslims in Palestine suffer?”

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan termed the occupation of Palestine and massacre of Palestinians the ‘main reason behind spread of terrorism’ across the world. He said the powers which proclaim to fight with terrorism are the boosters and founders of terrorism in the world; so called terrorism is the fruit of injustice, tyranny and exaction.

“You gave Israel a free hand to massacre defendless Palestinians including children and women in Gaza for 50 days, then how you can claim to be pioneers of counter-terrorism? Your acts and stances are on the path of giving birth to terrorism. Implement justice to uproot terrorism. If the international community wants to weaken extremism and terrorism, then the only working option is controlling Israel; its barbaric crimes should be stopped. Palestinians should get full independence and all of their demands,” he underlined.

Offices of all sectarian satellite TV channels should be closed
The prominent Sunni leader welcomed closure of the regional offices and studios of some Shiite satellite TV channels in Iran and said, “I would like to thank the officials over the closure of the satellite TV channels which promote only sectarian disputes. It is a god and heartwarming step. We hope the officials put a stop to the sectarian activities of other channels which have been boosting sectarian differences and contentions.”

Addressing the operators and activists in media sources, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid pointed out, “Currently the Muslim nation is suffering from scuffles and differences; thus I would like to recommend the operators and managers of all media sources to avoid promoting such disputes. Whoever they are and whenever they work, they should take care of the respect of their opponents and rival communities. The respect of all Muslim sects must be preserved.”

Khateeb of Sunnis condemned ‘Takfir’ of other Muslims calling it violation of the Islamic Shari’ah. He said Islam did not allow Muslims to declare their fellows ‘infidels’; rather it banned such tendencies. Islam is the religion of temperance and moderation.
