Mawlana Abdol Hamid at Nikshahr’s Friday Prayer:

Educational Decline Persists in Sistan and Baluchestan

Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol Hamid, during the Friday prayer ceremony in Nikshahr on January 3, 2025, criticized the “educational decline” in Sistan and Baluchestan and emphasized the need for the Ministry of Education to “reassess” its efforts in this regard.
According to the information office of the Sunni Friday Prayer Imam of Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol Hamid, addressing the eleventh graduation ceremony of male and female seminary students at Faruqiya Seminary in Nikshahr, expressed concerns about the “educational decline in Sistan and Baluchestan.” He stated: “The complaint and criticism remain that universities and schools in the province are not functioning as effectively as they should. Educational decline in Sistan and Baluchestan is significant, and the Ministry of Education is one of the main contributors to this issue.”
He added: “Education and knowledge are the foundation of every society and take precedence over all other matters. Therefore, the public demand from the Ministry of Education is to reassess this issue and prevent further educational decline.”

We are pleased that women are becoming more proactive and striving for their rightful place
The Friday Prayer Imam of Zahedan also expressed his delight over the “increasing focus on education among women.” He remarked: “We are very pleased that today, women in society have become more aware and are striving for education and achieving their religious, societal, and legal rights.”
He emphasized: “Islam and international laws insist that the dignity and rights of women should be respected, and no injustice should be done to them. Islam places men and women on equal footing regarding their rights.”
Mawlana Abdol Hamid expressed regret: “We are deeply saddened to hear about actions where women’s dignity is not respected, leading to issues. Women are knowledgeable in many areas and should be consulted and included in decisions based on their capabilities and merits.”

‘Maintaining Security’ is Vital and in Everyone’s Interest
In another part of his speech, the Friday Prayer Imam of Zahedan stressed the importance of “maintaining security,” stating: “Maintaining security in the province and the country is crucial. Our advice to all is to safeguard the region’s peace and stability.”
He emphasized: “Security is in everyone’s interest. Without security and tranquility, religious and worldly activities cannot be conducted effectively. We need peace and stability to address our religious and worldly concerns and express our issues.”
Mawlana Abdol Hamid also noted: “Individuals who commit murder in society must be handed over to the judiciary for due legal process. Handing over perpetrators to the legal authorities prevents the spread of violence and insecurity in the region.”

The Peace and Prosperity of Humanity Lie in Islam and the Life-Giving Teachings of the Seal of Prophets
Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol Hamid, in the first part of his address during the Friday prayer ceremony in Nikshahr (January 3, 2025), described the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) mission as “a mercy for all worlds” and identified the peace and prosperity of humanity in this life and the hereafter as being rooted in “Islam” and the “life-giving teachings of the Seal of Prophets” (peace be upon him).
According to the information office of the Sunni Friday Prayer Imam of Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol Hamid, while participating in the eleventh graduation ceremony of students at Faruqiya Seminary in Nikshahr, recited the verse:
“He is the One who raised among the illiterate a Messenger from among themselves to recite His verses to them, purify them, and teach them the Book and wisdom, although they were previously in clear error” [Surah Al-Jumu’ah: 2].
He remarked: “Today, all nations are seeking peace, prosperity, and dignity, willing to go to any lengths to achieve them. Allah has placed this peace in the religion of Islam and the life-giving teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), of which the Muslim nation is the heir.”
He added: “Allah sent the last Prophet with transformative and life-giving messages, making him a mercy for all humanity. Just as the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) are a source of mercy and prosperity, his followers must also serve as a mercy and source of prosperity for the world.”
He continued: “Allah has included everything necessary for humanity’s salvation and success in Islam, the Qur’an, and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). These divine lights—Islam and the Qur’an—will endure as long as the world exists. With these, Allah seeks to guide humanity and draw them closer to Him. It is truly unfortunate for a nation to possess such treasures and fail to utilize them or share them with the world.”

“The Essence of Religion” Is Humanity’s Lost Treasure
The Friday Prayer Imam added: “Today, Islam must be introduced to the world in new and innovative ways suited to contemporary conditions. Unfortunately, due to the actions of some Muslims, people around the world are hesitant to embrace Islam. They have witnessed the behavior, extremism, and propaganda against Islam, remaining unaware of the essence of religion, which is humanity’s lost treasure and worthy of emulation.”
He emphasized: “Muslims must act in a manner that does not alienate others from Islam but instead attracts the world to its morality and conduct, leading them to recognize its truth and embrace it.”
He further stated: “The Qur’an, Islam, and the Kaaba do not belong exclusively to Muslims but to all of humanity. These are the pillars that sustain and stabilize the world. Without them, the world would face ruin. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is also for all humanity. His efforts and concerns extended beyond his companions and family, encompassing all of humanity until the Day of Judgment. We Muslims must also strive to be a mercy for all people.”
He continued: “Islam’s teachings are transformative, saving, and life-giving. If we observe the obligations and principles of Islam in our lives, we will become reformed and valuable individuals, embodying mercy for the world.”

Islam Spread Through the Beautiful Morals of the Companions
Mawlana Abdol Hamid remarked: “Islam expanded through the exemplary morality of the Prophet’s companions, whose character mirrored that of the Prophet. People were influenced by Muslims’ way of life—their lawful earnings, trade ethics, fulfillment of promises, trustworthiness, and goodwill—and accepted Islam.”
He added: “The spread of Islam was not through warfare but through defense against oppression and arrogance. Moreover, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions never forced anyone to accept Islam; they only invited people to it.”

Making People Hate Religion is the Greatest Sin
Mawlana Abdol Hamid further emphasized: “Many Muslims, through their actions and behavior, make people hate the religion. The greatest sin is causing people to become disillusioned with the faith through one’s actions. Those who turn people away from religion will surely regret it after their death.”
He reminded: “Be a Muslim with all your being. It should not be the case that one merely carries the label of being a Muslim while committing heinous acts such as murder, taking hostages, engaging in alcohol, drugs, and sins, causing trouble for people and making the world loathe the faith. Islam is necessary for all of humanity. On the Day of Judgment, people will complain before God that Muslims did not convey Islam to them properly or presented it wrongly.”

Mosques and Historical Buildings that Belong to God are the Honor and Dignity of the Nation
Mawlana Abdol Hamid, continuing his speech, expressed his joy regarding the construction of the new building for the Nikshahr Grand Mosque and said: “Praise be to God, with the efforts of Mawlana Wahidi Far and the support of the people, the foundation for a large mosque has been established. This will be a lasting landmark and a major place of worship. When the construction is completed, people from across the province and the country will come by the Nikshahr road to pray and admire the mosque.”
He further remarked: “We must give importance to matters related to religion, those that belong to God. Mosques and historical buildings associated with God are the pride and dignity of the people and the nation.”
