Highlights of Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdolhamid’s Speech to the People of Pozm-Tiyab, Konarak District – Sunday, October 27, 2024

Prayer

• Emphasize the importance of prayer. Avoid neglecting prayer and don’t delay or miss it. If a prayer is missed, make it up as soon as possible.
• Unfortunately, prayer is neglected in our society today, and many of our youth overlook it.
• Either prayers are not observed properly, or they lack true devotion. Allah calls us to righteousness, regular prayers, and almsgiving. Wealth should not prevent us from fulfilling religious duties and respecting others’ rights.
• Just as prayer, fasting, zakat, and pilgrimage are obligatory, so are similar acts of voluntary worship. Both obligatory and voluntary acts of worship are rewarded and prepare us for meeting Allah.

HumanRights

• Assist those in need. Don’t assume they don’t need help; anyone extending their hand is risking their dignity. Our wealth is not more valuable than their honor, so let’s help them.
• Always seek forgiveness from neighbors. Check on them, visit them when they’re ill, attend their ceremonies, and be present in their lives.
• Guide people in the right direction, and support anyone who serves the community, regardless of their background.

PursuitOfKnowledge

• Some Companions of the Prophet (PBUH) learned the Quran in their later years. We know elderly men and women who memorized the Quran in their seventies. Let’s plan for the education of our nation and strive to learn the Quran, which is the highest priority.
• Everyone should strive for literacy, learn to read and write, and pursue higher education. Whether it’s you or your children, make an effort to learn religious and modern sciences.

Repentance

• Avoid all sins and seek forgiveness to attain salvation. Stay vigilant and perform religious duties correctly.
• Do not remain indifferent to religion, and gently discourage those who sin.
• “Calling to Allah” and “forbidding wrong” are part of our duties and responsibilities, and we will be held accountable for them.

PreparationForDeath

• One must not forget their day of departure and return to Allah, as this is a critical and sensitive day.
• Allah reminded His Messenger in the final moments of his blessed life: “Fear the day you will return to Allah.” The Prophet, his Companions, and the righteous servants understood this message, though sadly, many Muslims today are reluctant to heed it.
• Do not forget the day of death. Prepare for it, as it is the day of meeting Allah. The weight of this day and the concern for a good end have deeply affected the friends of Allah. Mawlana Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) used to say, “The concern for my end has broken my back.”
• If we could witness what happens in the grave, we’d abandon worldly affairs. It’s divine wisdom that what lies beyond the grave remains hidden from us.
• When the day to meet Allah arrives, He accepts many into His presence and confirms their righteous actions. At the time of death, those who have persevered in Allah’s path receive the glad tidings of Paradise.
