Referring to the embezzlement in $3 bn fraud case on tea imports, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader called it shocking and disappointing.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid emphasized on fighting corruption, changing policies and listening to the voices of people.
He was talking to tens of thousands of people in Zahedan’s biggest Friday gathering on December 8, 2023.
Eliminating corruption requires fundamental change
The Iranian top Sunni leader pointed out to the pains and problems of the people and noted: “These days, Iranians are suffering of severe economic and livelihood problems. Without exception, all classes of people are under severe living pressures. Many people migrate and flee the country due to living problems. The migration of professionals, educated people and those who have the ability to build the country is a big loss to the country.”
He believed that the capable people have been feeling the country due to lack of opportunities to serve the country.
“When the country is facing severe economic crisis, embezzlement of $3bn is very shocking and disappointing. Unfortunately, corruption has rooted in the country in such a way that some dare to embezzle such a big amount of money. Sometimes, some top officials admit that corruption has increased so high as it is impossible to fight it, “said the Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan.
“Although many cases of economic corruption are clear to the officials, they cannot completely eradicate it. Fighting all kinds of corruption requires fundamental changes. That’s why we have been saying that the past policies cannot solve the problems, and the country needs fundamental changes and new plans. It is clear that the current policies in choosing authorities are inefficient. Capable and competent people who are committed should be appointed in positions, “Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said during his Friday sermons of Zahedan.
People are worried about mass executions and torture of detainees
The eminent Iranian Sunni scholar of Balochistan referred to the mass executions and torture of detainees, saying: “The people of Iran have been suffering from economic problems. They have complaints in other cases, such as judicial sentences, arrests, etc. Recently, executions have increased in the country; this has worried people. We believe that such executions are not compatible with Islamic laws.”
“People complain of mistreatment against prisoners. That’s why we tell the authorities to listen to the people. People have a lot of pains and their demands should be taken into consideration. Many of these pains and complaints are real. So listen to the people and solve their legitimate demands, “Shaikh Abdol-Hamid explained the concerns of the Iranian people during his Friday sermons of Zahedan.
He believed: “Islam is far away from many things that are done in the name of Islam.”
“To bring peace in the country, the officials must pay special attentions to the demands of the people and solve their problems, “said the Friday Imam of Zahedan.
We must oppose the command that prevents us from offering prayers
The most outstanding Iranian Sunni scholar referred to the religious pressures on Sunni Community of Iran and said: “Prayer is the communication with Allah Almighty. It is a a significant worship. I would like to advise everyone to pay attention to prayers. Offer prayers in the mosque, at home, in the park, on the sidewalk, and wherever you can. Do not cut off your connection with Allah. Avoid opposing the prayers. Prayer is an important pillar of Islam.”
He added: “Do not accept the words of those who prevent you from prayers because prayers are God’s decree. If your parents, or officials prevent you from establishing prayers, you must disobey them.”
“Whoever opposes the prayers, he/she will touch the fire of hell, “Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said.
Loving the Companions is one of the beliefs of Sunnis
Referring to the occasion of the passing of Fatima may Allah be pleased with her, according to the country’s official calendar, the president of Darululoom Zahedan said: “All the Ahl al-Bayt and the children of the holy Prophet peace and blessings of Allah be upon him have a high status. Loving them is one of the Sunnis’ beliefs.”
“Just as the Companions are among the sanctities of the Sunnis, the Sunnis also respect the Ahl al-Bayt and consider them among their sanctities particularly those among them who are Companions, ” Shaikh Abdol-Hamid urged on respecting the position of the Companions of the holy Prophet peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
The oppressed people of Gaza have no savior except Allah
The Iranian top Sunni leader leader referred to the tragedy of Gaza saying: “A great cruelty is taking place in Gaza. Israel’s attacks on Gaza have no justification; innocent people, including women and children, are massacred and different places of Gaza are destroyed. No divine religion, no human rights organization law and no common sense accepts that women, old men, and young people to be killed so and houses and buildings to be destroyed. No one accepts that two million people are displaced during this cold season.”
“The people of Gaza have no any shelter to go. The United Nations has declared that there is no place for these people. They need food and rest. There is no savior for women, children and the oppressed and defenseless people of Gaza, except Allah. May Allah help the oppressed people of Gaza with his mercy and power, “said Imam of the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan in his last points.
It should be said that Sunni worshipers of Zahedan collected humanitarian aids for the oppressed people of Gaza during Friday sermons.
