The most influential Iranian Sunni leader stated that he would endure any threat in defense of the rights of the people of Iran. Shaikh Abdol-Hamid strongly defended the rights of the Iranian nation and considered people’s prosperity in both worlds as his main concern.

Iran; among the countries with the highest rate of brain drain
Talking to the people of Zahedan before the Friday prayers on June 23, 2023, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “The escape of Iranian human capitals including the escape of elites, specialists, and educated people bothers us. Iran is at the top of the list of the countries with the highest rate of brain drain in the world. Economic problem is one of the main factors of brain drain. The value of our national currency has fallen, and economic problems have put pressure on people.”

“Many professionals who get a job in other countries flee abroad. Elites and intellectuals are the biggest assets and capitals of any country, but that country loses these big assets,” he added.

Iran’s national interests have been hit
The president of Darululoom Zahedan continued his Friday speech by saying: “I have said many times that the country’s national interests have been hit. In advanced countries, they put national interests first. In our country, officials and decision-makers did not focus on national interests, but many who had influence looted national interests. The country has been hit, and the treasury is empty. These problems have affected all classes in different levels of the country.”

“These days, many people are trying to fix and improve the economy, but I do not think the economy can be fixed with the current policies. To reform the economy, two factors are very vital; the first one is the tools and the second one is to adopt the right policy. Every program needs tools and capable people, and then, it needs proper planning and policies,” said the Iranian top Sunni leader during his Friday sermons of Zahedan.

The Friday Imam of Zahedan said: “Until the policies are not reformed, the officials cannot solve the economic and other problems. There is serious concern in this regard, and we do not see a bright future. Today, life has become difficult for the Iranians. Famine and drought have added to people’s problems.”

“The cause of famine and other problems are results of our deeds and actions such as oppression, shedding people’s blood, and killing innocents. It is necessary for all of us to return to Allah so that Allah Almighty will solve the problems,” Shaikh Abdol-Hamid believed.

Criticism is intolerable in our country
The eminent Iranian Sunni scholar went on to refer to a historic problem in Iran during centuries, saying: “During the kingdom era until now, only a specific group has had access to the rulers, and the lower and common classes have always been marginalized with no access to the ruling body. This problem continued after the Islamic Republic. In Iran, there has been a particular spectrum around the elders of the country and the rest of the people cannot approach the rulers. As a result, people cannot raise their demands.”

“We live in this land, and we know what happens in our country; we know that some followed a specific group to connect them with officials. The other problem is that the authorities do not listen to the critics. Due to such obstacles, problems will not be solved. The ruler should consider the condition of deprived and poor people and must listen to the critics. If the authorities do not hear to critics, the result is that decisions are incorrect,” said the Iranian top Baloch scholar.

“Unfortunately, there has been no ground to criticize. Even if the parliament members criticized, some pressure groups shouted at them; it is harmful. If there is no criticism, how is it possible to correct the problems and bring reform? In our country, there has not been one power and center to make decisions; there are many people who have the authority and power, so the decisions cannot be made properly and anyone decides for himself. As a result, national interests hit and sacrificed,” said the Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan.

The implementation of justice and freedom of expression are among main demands of the Iranians
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid continued: “The implementation of justice, the elimination of discrimination and freedom of expression are the main demands of the Iranian nation. People will never abandon these demands. The nation wants to eliminate discrimination and implementation of justice and freedom of expression. Freedom of expression and press are vital.”

He added more: “These are national freedoms. The law has not been implemented in this regard and people have been dealing with the taste and personal views. This has hit the national interests and the principle of the system and the principle of religion.”

Officials should give up failed policies
The most prominent Iranian Sunni cleric further addressed the Iranian officials by saying: “The officials should not experience old and failed policies. Do not follow the policies that have no fruits. Leave failed policies, negotiate with the protesters, and adopt new policies. Listen to the protesters and fulfill people’s demands. In every system and country, people are the most important part. Pay attention to people. People are benevolent.”

“At least we can guarantee ourselves that we are not looking for personal benefits; we do not want power, and we are not looking for material benefits, but we are looking for the national and people’s interests, and God willing, our words are not hypocritical, and we are against exaggeration, and we do not want anyone’s rights to be lost,” he underlined.

We defend people’s rights until the last breath
In the last part of his Friday speech of Zahedan, Imam of the grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan said: “We will defend the people’s rights until the last breath. We keep following the interests of the nation.”

“Perhaps we pursue the benefit of the country and the benefits of all spectra and classes. I’d like to advise everyone to seek people’s interests. We recommend the authorities to sit with people. We want you nothing but to follow the religion of Ibrahim and Mohammad, peace be upon them, and to seek justice and fairness in the country. Furthermore, we want prosperity of the people in this world and in the hereafter life,” he added.

“Until the last breath of life, we follow the interests and prosperity of the people and endure any threat in this regard. Do not be worried about my security. Everything is in the hands of Allah, and whatever God wants it will happen. Just pray, prayer is vital,” Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said in his last points.
