Shaikh Abdol-Hamid’s Friday remarks on rising inflation rate in Iran:

Officials should Hear Voice of Anti-Inflation Protestors

Referring to the increase of economic and livelihood problems in Iran that led to the protests of the people in the country, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader called on the authorities to listen to the voice of the protesters and called for wise solutions to solve economic and livelihood problems.

Talking to the worshipers in Zahedan, capital of Iranian Baluchistan on May 20, 2022, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “I’d like to advise the authorities to listen to the voice of the people who say that we are hungry and cannot afford to buy daily food because of high prices.”

“The voice and the cry of the protesters must be heard,” The Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan urged.

“Dear officials! Listen to the voice of the nation and take wise measures to solve the problems of the people,” the most outstanding Iranian Sunni scholar emphasized.

President of Darululoom Zahedan continued: “The best policy and strategy for all governments is to hear the voice of the people and get their consent. The pleasure of Almighty Allah is in satisfying the nation.”

He added more: “If the officials satisfy the nation, the foreign enemies will not be able to take abuse of the current situation in Iran.”

“As the Qur’an states and emphasizes, the best policy is to get the pleasure of Allah Almighty and to please the people,” said Mawlana Abdol-Hamid in the biggest Friday gathering of Zahedan.

He continued: “In order to achieve victory and success and bring peace and tranquility in the society, the consent of Allah, and the people must be obtained.”

After faith, science is the biggest need of human beings
Pointing out to the status of science and knowledge in Islam, the eminent Sunni scholar of Iran considered the science and knowledge as the biggest need of humanity and Islamic society and urged on the need of learning Islamic and modern sciences.

“Mankind needs knowledge in spiritual and material areas. Modern and Islamic sciences are the basic needs of human beings,” said Mawlana Abdol-Hamid.

“After faith, science is the most important need of human and Islamic society,” he underlined.

“Faith, recognition of Allah, the Hereafter life, religion, good deeds, morality, the rights of the people and the rights of Allah are considered in Islam”, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid noted.

He believed: “Islamic science is more necessary for human beings than drinking water, because it is impossible to gain paradise without practicing the commands of Allah Almighty.”

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid went on to say: “Intelligent and wise people try to acquire knowledge in both material and spiritual arenas. In order to advance in technology and inventions, there must be failed to learn modern science, just as self-purification and reformation are not possible without Islamic sciences.”

“As the Islamic sciences were promoted with the dispatch of the prophets, the history of the modern science also refers to the time of the Prophet Adam peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. All human achievements in modern and Islamic sciences are among the blessings of Allah Almighty,” said the prominent Sunni scholar of Iran.

He added more: “Many people think that they don’t need Islamic sciences, while such an idea is a big mistake and misguidance, because it’s not possible to achieve purity and Allah’s spiritual graces without the religion of Islam. Those who have academic knowledge and are unaware of the divine commands, face a dead end. It is also wrong to ignore modern science.”

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid referred to the responsibilities of scholars and educators in serving the community by saying: “Clerics, educators, university lecturers and professors, and preachers have a duty to serve the community with sincerity only for the sake of Allah Almighty, not for material purposes.”

‘Seek knowledge only for the sake of God’, he underlined.

“Learning the holy Qur’an is essential for every Muslim. Allah Almighty guides humanity through the noble Qur’an. The Qur’an is the nearest path that leads us to Allah Almighty,” Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said.
Referring to the summer holidays of state-run schools, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid inspired students to participate in Qur’anic classes and learn Islamic sciences during these days.”

He called on parents to plan and work on educating their children and leading them to religious and academic schools.

Dear people, manage your living expenses
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid insisted on saving and said: “Dear people! I advise you to manage your expenses and avoid extravagance and extra spending.”

“Economy is an Islamic word means moderation in spending. The Qur’an teaches us to be moderate in spending and commands us to avoid extravagance,” he added more.

Rich people should help reduce the cost of marriage
Criticizing the high cost of marriage, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “Marriage protects half of the faith and saves people from sins. Today, thousands of young mature girls and boys cannot get married because they cannot afford to buy gold, household items and wedding expenses.”

“I’d like to advise the scholars, tribal elders and rich people to reduce the cost of marriage and hold wedding ceremonies in the presence of about fifty or a hundred people so that the poor people can get married easily. When rich people invite a thousand guests, poor people also go under pressure to hold such ceremonies”, Imam of the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan said.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said in his last points: “In the time of the Holy Prophet PBUH, weddings were very simple and easy. At that time, the highest meal of a wedding ceremony was a sheep.”
