Shaikh Abdol-Hamid inspires parents and community organizers:

Lead Children and Young People to Education & Practicing Shari’ah

Emphasizing the need to fulfill responsibilities in the family and society, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader called on parents and community organizers to proper planning for upbringing and educating children and young people.

Addressing the Friday worshipers of Zahedan, capital of Iranian Balochistan, on January 28, 2022, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid inspired Muslims to adhere to the principles of Islam and Shari’ah, to raise their children properly, pay special attention to the young people, and strive to be closer to Allah Almighty.

The Friday Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan said: “Allah Almighty warns the believers in the Holy Quran: ‘O believers! Save yourself and your family from the Hell’. Therefore, according to the Holy Qur’an, we have a responsibility to try our best in order to save ourselves and our families from the divine punishment.”

“As Muslims, we must always take care of our children and make them obey the divine commandments and to avoid disobeying Almighty Allah. We have two responsibilities towards our children: the first thing is their guidance and faith; leading them to mosque, the prayers, fasting, the Qur’an and etc. The second is proper planning for their education and skills. Civilized nations and intelligent people consider their children as their best assets and plan for their upbringing,” said president of Darululoom Zahedan.

“Planning for raising children is more important than anything else. We should support our children to gain knowledge and skills. The best dream for parents is to plan properly for their children’s education, upbringing, ethics, and learning skills. The best money is the money that spent on the education of our children,” the eminent scholar of Zahedan said.

He continued his Friday speech of Zahedan by saying: “We have to take care of our children. If we do not have control over our children, they will become addicted and will create insecurity in society. Ignoring children and leaving alone them is like killing them. The worst kind of murder is that parents deprive their children of love, compassion, and education and edification.”

“We should put education and uprising of our children first; we should not be contented just with advising them, but our responsibility goes beyond that, and that is their proper training. If we only advise our children but do not take care of them, they will complain about us before Allah on the Day of Judgment,” Imam of the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan said.

The prominent Sunni scholar of Iran went on to defend the position of the young generation and noted: “Embrace young people; lead them to education, vocational jobs and learning skills. Students should not drop out of schools because it affects our society. Those who have dropped out of schools, colleges and seminaries should return to science, learn professions and knowledge, and serve their community with sacrifice.”

Academics should be aware of enemy propaganda
The Iranian Sunnis’ leader referred to some propaganda against the Islamic laws especially in universities and stated: “I would like to advise students and all people to be aware of the propaganda of the enemies against Islam. We should know Islam through the Qur’an and the actions of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH, not through Muslims whom we do not accept them as true Muslims.”

‘It is our need to practice the Shari’ah of Islam. When we obey the divine commands, our life becomes comfortable in this world and in the Hereafter’, he believed.

In his last points, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid pointed out to the importance of congregational prayers in Islam and said: “It is forbidden to hear the call of Azan and offer prayers at home. The Prophet Mohammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to offer his prayers in the mosque in his last days of life when he was sick. So we should be adhering to the mosque; this is in accordance with piety.”

Referring to the passing of Shaikh Khodarahm Lakzai, one of the prominent teachers at Darululoom Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid prayed for his full forgiveness and called him as an educated, compassionate and literate scholar.

He pointed out: “Unfortunately, this year we have lost three prominent and senior scholars of Darululoom Zahedan; such incidents are tragic and unfortunate for us. According to Allah’s commands, we are obliged to be patient in such tragic incidents and ask Allah for reward.”
