Pointing out to the unfinished developmental projects of the government in Sistan-Balochistan, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid urged on completion of these projects as soon as possible.

The official website of Shaikh Abdol-Hamid, Friday imam of Sunnis in Zahedan, southeastern Iran, reported that he congratulated the Week of Government to provincial and national officials and statesmen in the Friday sermon of August 30, 2019.

He said in his speech: “The government has been making efforts to provide services in the country and province, but there are some key projects which need the especial attention of the government. These projects will play a key role in development and producing jobs in the province.”

President of Darululoom Zahedan alluded to the first project and said: “Extension of Shahid Beheshti Port of Chabahar is one of the main projects which should be focused on. It is a very important and strategic port which links Iran with the central Asia and many other countries.”

Mawlana Abdol-Hamid pointed out to the Chabahar-Zahedan railway, gas supplying in the province and making the Chabahar-Milak road an express highway and autobahn as some other main projects in Sistan-Balochistan which are under development.

He said: “Focusing on those projects can enhance region’s development and production of jobs in the province to a great extent. We hope the projects would be completed as soon as possible.”

Meritocracy strengthens unity and fraternity
The most outstanding Iranian Sunni leader went on to say more in the presence of Dr. Zaynivand, vice-governor of Sistan-Balochistan in political and social issues and said: “As Mr. Zaynivand said division is against the interests of people. Because we all belong to one nation and Ummah and Iranians, regardless to their sect, are brothers with each other.”

“It is important to respect the principle of meritocracy in the country. Elites of ethno-religious communities should be engaged and employed without any discrimination.”

He urged: “Even I think the due rights of non-Muslims who live in our province and country should be respected and their competent and talented ones should be engaged according to their specialization in the development of the country.”

“It is the demand of different classes of people in the province to respect and focus on “meritocracy”. We ensure provincial and national officials that engaging capable and competent members of ethno-religious communities strengthens unity and fraternity and the higher officials will achieve their goals regrading unity,” he said.

At the end of his speech, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid alluded to the month of Moharram and said: “Moharram and especially its first ten days are especial days in our country. We hope in the ceremonies which would be held the dignity of Shia and Sunni sanctity will be protected.”
“All Muslims across the world should protect the dignity of each other’s tenets and holy personalities,” he added more.
