Ml. Abdol-Hamid among Sunnis of Sistan:

Educated Sunnis of Sistan Complain Discrimination

The most influential Iranian Sunni leader visited Sistan region of “Sistan & Balochistan province” on Saturday and Sunday (March 9-10, 2019) where he took part in three graduation ceremonies and met with people of different classes directly.

The official website of Shaikh Ab. Hamid reported that he left Zahedan to Azimabad village of Sistan division on Saturday 9th March where he attended the graduation ceremony of Imam Abu-Hanifah Islamic seminary as the chief guest.

Maintain your unity

In his speech at the graduation ceremony of male and female students of Imam Abu-Hanifah seminary, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid called on authorities to remove discrimination in distribution of jobs and posts.

He advised people of Sistan: “Dispute is very bad and religious, ethnic and sectarian disputes and conflicts are the worst kind of disputes. Such disputes should not be intensified; rather they should be resolved soon.”

“We should take lesson from the situation of Syria, Iraq and Yemen where infrastructures of those countries have been destroyed due to sectarian disputes and foreign interferences.”

Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan addressed the people of Sistan and said: “You, both Shias and Sunnis, are brothers with each other. Be together and live with fraternity and respect each other. Be careful of enemies’ conspiracies on creating disputes and sectarian conflicts.”

“Take care of your fraternity and long-time brotherhood; these posts and jobs are mortal and they will be over a day like other blessings of Allah. Behave in a way that you can win hearts of all,” he added more.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid called on officials to avoid discrimination between Shia and Sunni communities and said: “We all are Iranians and no one is immigrant here. In the case of any danger, we will be next to each other for defense of the country. There is no any difference of Shia and Sunni for us and we respect both of them.”

Sunni educated citizens complain discrimination

On Sunday morning, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid recapitulated complaints of Sunnis in Sistan division and said: “People in Sistan have been living together peacefully and both Shia and Sunni communities are relatives with each other.”
“However there are no much complaints on developmental services, but the educated Sunnis of Sistan complain of discrimination in distribution of jobs and posts. The authorities should change their minds and views to make people’s fraternity stronger,” he added more.

President of Darululoom Zahedan said: “People of Sistan have been together always in all fields. One community should not be neglected and deprived from its due rights due to its tenets and beliefs which return to Islam.”
