Shaikh Abdol-Hamid urged on “reviewing some domestic and foreign policies”, terming it effectual and instrumental for the amendment of the conditions.

The official website of Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, the Friday imam of Sunnis in Zahedan reported his speech of 9th Feb. 2018 where he said: “The 39th anniversary of the victory
of Islamic Revolution has been coincided with some public protests in different cities, but we are will-wishers of all including the state and nation. It is a lesson we have learned it from Islam.”

Advising the Iranian authorities, he said: “Our domestic and foreign policies should be revised. They are effective policies and we can overcome the ongoing economic crisis and the rest of problems by reforming and revising the policies and strategies. It is vital issue.”

“The country has been suffering from different crises including economic deadlocks mainly because of some domestic and foreign policies. We should step forward first to remove tensions and disputes; these tensions are not in favor of anyone. Many of foreign stances need revisal,” the president of Darululoom Zahedan further said.

Mawlana Abdol-Hamid criticized foreign policy and said: “There is a famous Persian proverb which means ‘charity begins at home’. Currently we are not in a condition to support other countries, first of all we need to resolve our own problems and rebuff the anxieties of our people by creating jobs and resolving economic problems.”

He emphasized on the officials to stop “outlawed behaviors” and revise in some policies to decrease protests and amend the country’s conditions.

“Corruption” & “discrimination”, biggest threat to any state
Khateeb of Sunnis applauded the statement of the Iranian supreme leader about the presence of “corruption” and “discrimination” calling it a “wisely” sentence.

“I also think discrimination and corruption are widely present in the society. There should be serious steps and strategies to uproot these phenomena,” Shaikh Abdol-Hamid added more.

He further said: “Corruption and discrimination are threats for the existence of the state and revolution. Corrupt officers should be replaced with honest ones. Discrimination regarding ethnic and religious sects also should be eliminated completely.”

The most influential Iranian Sunni leader alluded to some examples of vast discriminations in Iran and said: “Iranian Sunnis played an important role in the victory of the Islamic revolution in 1979. On the 39th anniversary of the revolution we’d like to inform the supreme leader, the president and the rest of authorities that there is any Sunni citizen in armed forces as a cadre and graded officers. Even there are national offices where a single Sunni cannot be found.”

He said: “Discrimination ends up to cultural and economic poverty which can be seen in the country. Iranian Sunni community belongs to this land and nation. According to Islam and the constitution discrimination against Sunnis should be removed completely.”

The famous Iranian scholar recommended the higher authorities to implement “positive discrimination” in favor of the Sunni community in order to decrease the complaints of the communities.”

He also said: “I think giving advice for elimination of corruption and discrimination is not enough, rather the situation of the country demands the direct interfere the supreme leader and president to control those issue directly.”

Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid went on to say more: “Relaying on armed forces instead of people was one of the strategic blunders of Shah. The armed forces could not protect Shah and his regime.”

“As the revolution of 1979 was succeeded by the uprising of all classes of the society, in the same way its existence depends on the presence of people. The voice of people should be heard and their demands should be taken seriously,” he concluded his points.
