Reacting to the statement of Donald Trump on recognizing Jerusalem as capital of Israel, the most influential Iranian Sunni cleric termed this decision an “insult of the Muslim world” and “playing with fire”. He was talking to the general meeting of the 31st Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran on 6th Dec. 2017.
“Trump and Israeli PM who have been succeeded to create disputes among Muslims, now they see the circumstances suitable for threatening the Muslim world and insulting Ummah,” he added more.
The president of Darululoom Zahedan further said: “As a Muslim, I’d like to address all Muslim leaders: aren’t enough for you the betrayals and lies of Trump for you? Trump does not belong to you, but he belongs to Israel. He has some commitments to the Zionists.”
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid urged on Muslims to be united against the enemies of Islam. He called on the leaders of Islamic and Arab countries to show their opposition to Trump and the occupying Zionist regime.”
Media and satellite TV channels should preserve respect of sects and personalities
Talking to the audience of the 31st Islamic Unity Conference, the most influential Iranian Sunni scholar said: “Unity is a very important need for the Muslim nation. The interests and dignity of Muslims depend on protecting unity and solidarity.”
“I’d like to call on all media outlets and satellite TV channels of Shia and Sunni communities to preserve each other’s respect. They should protect the dignity of sects and personalities. The state TV and radio (IRIB) should introduce Sunnis more in order to remove misconceptions about Shia-Sunni differences,” Mawlana Abdol-Hamid pointed out.
Recognizing rights reciprocally makes Muslims close to each other
The eminent Iranian Sunni scholar termed “reciprocal recognition of rights” the most important and influential way to reach to unity.
He alluded to the status of the Qur’an and Sunnah and said: “Muslims are proud of their valuable heritages such as the Noble Qur’an and beautiful teachings of the prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him. We have a civilization which is the need of all human beings, but most of the people miss it and they cannot bring an example of it.”
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid criticized negligence of Muslims in acting upon the Islamic commands, especially the five-time prayers. He said the Muslim scholars should find any solution for this negligence.
Member of the supreme council of the MWL further said: “The most important point which should be focused on is the rights of sects. The followers of all sects should preserve each other’s rights and avoid insulting each other. The reciprocal recognition of rights is the main reason for unity and making hearts close.”
“Legal freedoms in every country should be realized. The people of Iraq and Syria, after the pains and calamities they endured, they should embrace each other and stand with each other. Also the rest of Muslims should be together,” he concluded his points.
