Criticizing the growing incidents of shootings on innocent people in the province of Sistan-Baluchistan of Iran, the prominent Iranian Sunni leader asked the security forces to avoid firing in public places.

“SunniOnline” reported, talking to tens of thousands worshipers in the central Mosalla of Zahedan, southeastern Iran on Eid al-Adha day (Sep. 12, 2016), Shaikh Abdol-Hamid called on the Iranian authorities to extend the Eid holidays, produce jobs in the poor province of Baluchistan and all should work hard for unity and solidarity.

Alluding to the casualties left by the security forces’ shootings in public places and crowded roads, Khateeb and Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan said, “I’d like to advise policemen, especially the anti-narcotics forces, to not fire in the main roads and inside cities. It has left many dead.”

A teacher at Darululoom Zahedan, Molawi Hameedullah Gamshadzahi, was injured when some security men opened fire on his car near the city of Khash. The incident took place hours before Eid prayers in the evening of Sep. 11 on a main road.

Before it, the car of another senior teacher of Darululoom Zahedan was targeted by the Anti-narcotics force on Zahedan – Khash highway in Ramadan 2015.

“We have witnessed some very unpleasant scenes due to firings of security forces. The forces of anti-narcotics sometimes seal highways and shoot innocent citizens. Even vehicles also shouldn’t be targeted which may cause losses for others,” he added more.

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan, the biggest Islamic learning center of Sunnis in Iran, underlined, “If a culprit succeeds to run away, it is better than killing innocents. Thus the higher officers of police should order their forces to not fire on anyone in the public places.”

We should seek for one Ummah
The outstanding Iranian Sunni leader urged on the need of unity in another part of his speech inside the main Mosalla of Sunnis in Zahedan city.

He said, “Unity is necessary for all factions and sects. We should seek for the one Ummah as the Noble Qur’an calls us. The philosophy of negotiation and dialogue should be boosted.”

Expressing his sorrow on the regrettable conditions of some Muslim countries, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said, “We see so shocking pictures of Iraq, Syria and Yemen. Markets and convoys of aid agencies are being bombed and destroyed. Russia and other Western powers are ruthless; they can resolve the crises, but they want different sects and tendencies to fight with each other.”

“The so called super powers want to obtain their interests and make Israel safe. There is no any intention to find any peaceful solution to the crises of the Middle East. Muslims should change their attitude, review polices and repent to the Almighty,” he emphasized.

Extend Eid holidays
In another part of his Eid speech, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid asked the authorities to extend the duration of Eid holydays to three days in Iran. He said, “The holidays for Eid al-Fitr should be extended to -at least- two days and at Eid al-Adha to three days. Iran should give more importance to the legal Eids of Islam.”

In the first part of his sermon, the rector of Darululoom Zahedan reminded Muslims the prophetic sermon of the prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him. He said, “The only way to get rid of the divine punishment is Islam. We should act upon its all directions indiscriminately.”
