Expressing his deep sorrow on the internal tensions among Muslim countries and factions, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid asked the political and religious figures to not give the enemies ‘chances for misuse’.

Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan alluded to the intensified tensions among the Muslim states in the Friday sermon of Sep. 09, 2016 in Zahedan, Iran, and said, “The growing disputes and tensions among the Muslim countries have made us worried. The statesmen get involved in domestic disputes and give the enemies opportunities to misuse them against them.”

“The occupying regime of Israel, imperialist US and opportunist domineering powers of the West and East have been abusing the ongoing tensions of Muslims. They want to show the disputes ‘sectarian’ just to create sectarian tensions. It is in accordance with the interests of Israel and other enemies of Islam,” he added more.

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan, the biggest Islamic educational center of the Iranian Sunni community, called on the Muslim public figures and said, “We call on all sides to show tolerance and to not add fuel to the fire of the tensions.”

“Especially Ulama, Muftis and religious figures should avoid terming other Muslims ‘infidels’ and disbelievers. The Noble Qur’an does not allow any Mufti and scholar to term ‘Muslims’ that they are non-Muslims. Problems and distances should not be extended,” the eminent Islamic scholar urged.

He further said, “The Muslim world needs tolerance more than any time. Shia community is a considerable part of the Muslim Ummah and no one should term followers of any sect ‘disbelievers’. Ulama should not get angry or to issue fatwa while they are angry. We should express our views when we are in calm.”

Mawlana Abdol-Hamid expressed his regret on the absence of Iranian pilgrims in Hajj of 2016 and said, “A huge number of Muslims is busy with the rituals of Hajj in the holy cities and areas of Haramain Sharifain. But the pilgrims from Iran couldn’t take part in Hajj unfortunately.”

“We hope the Muslim states will be closer resolving their crises and problems. Fraternity is must for the Muslim world. The Iranian pilgrims deserved more foresight from the Saudi authorities in the Hajj case,” he underlined.
