Shaikh Abdol-Hamid alluded to the summer vacations of the Iranian public schools in his sermon of May 6, 2016 and called on parents to make good plans for their children.
Talking to tens of thousands worshippers in Zahedan, southeastern Iran, he said, “Knowledge is the cornerstone for progress and development. Human being has each and everything from education. All prophets were teachers and educators. Educating had been one of the purposes of the prophets. Teachers have a key role in the society.”
“Many of the companions, may Allah be pleased with them, learnt and memorized the Noble Qur’an when they were old. They were learning the Qur’an in all conditions; travel and home. Men and women, boys and girls were striving to learn the Qur’an,” Khateeb of Sunnis further said.
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid shed light on the importance of seeking knowledge and said, “The one who travels, he must know about the way. In the same way, the person who offers prayers, pays Zakah and performs Hajj, he should have the knowledge of it to carry it out correctly. The science of Shari’ah and modern science, both are the needs of mankind. Human beings need the world and they can get advanced with knowledge better.”
Pointing out to the arrival of the summer vacations of public schools and universities, the rector of Darululoom Zahedan said, “In the summer free days make plans for students to study and learn the Qur’an and essential tenets. Do not leave your children to waste their time for useless activities like watching TV and satellite channels. Utilize the talents of your children and use them in a correct way.”
“Make plans for learning the Noble Qur’an. All should learn the Qur’an. It is the root cause of many blessings and changes in life,” he added more.
At the end of his speech, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid thanked the organizers of the graduation ceremony which was held on Thursday 5th May, 2016.
