Denouncing strongly “illegal amulet-writings/Tawiz”, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid described such people “fraudulent” who steal the faith of Muslims.

Talking to tens of thousands worshipers in Zahedan on Friday, April 1, 2016, the eminent Islamic scholar said, “The Almighty has made the Beloved Prophet, peace be upon him, an example for us to be followed. His all characters, habits and moral were liked by the Almighty. The Sublime Himself fostered and upbrought the prophet Mohammad making his deeds on the route of nature.”

Expressing his concerns on the “outbreak of magic and non-Islamic Tawiz-writings” in the society, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said, “We have received some shocking reports about the tendency of Tawiz-writing; some people mislead Muslims just for earning more money. Many of women contact magicians to get their desired talisman. It is an incorrect act. Those people are cunning elements who only misuse the ignorance of others.”

“Some of Tawiz-writers are forced by people to write any Tawiz for them, but some others have made it a job and source of income; they use some books and materials in this way without observing the restrictions of Islam. These Tawiz-writers are not practicing Muslims. They have created many troubles in the society,” he underlined.

The prominent Islamic scholar of Sunnis in Iran pointed out, “The one who goes to magicians to divide spouses and misuse such cases, s/he would lose her/his faith. We should take the help of the Noble Qur’an for uprooting magic. According to the Islamic teachings, the last two chapters of the Qur’an are the best things for protection from magic.”

“Magic is a big sin in the extent of Kofr (infidelity). The prophets, peace be upon them, fought against magicians more than anyone. They were misleading people and creating troubles and problems for the Last Messenger, peace be upon him, and his companions,” the Friday imam of Sunnis added more.

We only approve “Sufism” if it is in accordance with Shari’ah
Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan alluded to the topic of Tasawwuf (Sufism) and said, “Tasawwuf and theosophy cannot be denied. By the blessings of Allah, we and our Ulama approve correct Sufism; if Sufis go on the path of Shari’ah, we also approve them.”

“There are some real scholars and some fake ones. So, all should be vigilant to not trust on all who show themselves ‘Mullah’ and misuse the uniform of Muslim scholars. Avoid the people who misuse the uniform of Tariqat to ensure their worldly interests and ambitions,” he underlined.

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan further said, “Abdullah bin Masoud says ‘be alert from whom you take your religion’. We should be vigilant to get our religious affairs from pious people whose piety is as clear as the moon and sun.”

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid pointed out, “We oppose superstitions and innovations, but we agree with Tasawwuf if it is in accordance with Shari’ah. If anyone claims to be ‘Sufi’ but his acts are not authenticated by Shari’ah and Sunnah, we oppose such Sufis. The biggest aim in Tasawwuf is imitation of Shari’ah, Sunnah, piety and purity.”

Addressing the audience, he concluded his points by saying, “Be alert and recognize people well. Do not trust on others without recognition. Do not contact Tawiz-writers and Sufis; many of them are fake Sufis. We should protect our religion and piety.”

Maulana Abdol-Ghani was a pious scholar
In the last part of his sermon, the Friday imam of Sunnis in Zahedan expressed his sorrow on the demise of Maulana Abdol-Ghani Isma’eelzahi, Friday Imam of “Galougah” town in Zahedan district, and said, “Maulana Abdol-Ghani was a pious, worshipping and reciter scholar. He used to recite the Noble Qur’an a lot. He was getting up at nights to worship the Almighty always. May Allah grant him the best place in the Paradise increasing his position, amen.”
