The outstanding Iranian Sunni leader alluded to the start of election campaign in Iran, and called on candidates and their supporters to take care of Islamic ethical codes.

Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said in a part of his Friday sermon of Feb. 19, 2016 in Zahedan, “The general election for Majlis council is one of the important scenes in the country. There are many watchers throughout the world who observe the process carefully. The turnout should be soulful.”

“As there are many candidates for the election, all should be vigilant to do not tell lie or accuse each other with baseless blames. Humiliating rivals is a bad habit. We see some elements accuse their rivals with bogus claims in the social networking websites and internet,” he underlined.

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan further said, “Honesty is must in election. Vote is a trust and should be used honestly. Truthfulness and honesty are among the most important morals and best Islamic ethics. Telling lie means inviting the anger and curse of the Almighty.”

He called on the residents of Zahedan city to take part in polling and inform women to cast their votes, too.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid concluded his points by urging, “We should cast our votes carefully. All should strive to vote for the ‘best’, good, capable and experienced candidates who prefer public interests.”
