The Friday imam of Sunnis in Zahedan, Iran, urged on facilitating youth to get married sooner and called it a way to ‘protect values’ and ‘save the society from social problems’.

Talking to tens of thousands worshipers gathered for the Friday prayers in Zahedan city on Nov. 13, 2015, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid Isma’eelzahi said, “Marriage has been approved and urged by all religions, cultures and civilizations. It is a natural issue; the nations who gave importance to marriage, they protected their culture and values.”

“On the other hand, showing negligence in marriage creates social problems for people. In such societies, corruption and moral misbehavior break out and the basis of families collapse.”

He added more, “Many of satellite TV channels aim to pursue men and women for illicit relations with the opposite gender. They want to show married life insignificant. Such elements or not only the enemies of Islam, but they are the mortal enemies of the humanity.”

Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan called on Muslim women to take care of their Islamic veil and said, “The best value and beauty for women is modesty, dignity and good morals. Knowledge makes women more valuable. Unfortunately, the effects of Western culture can be seen in the Iranian clothes”.

“Our youth should get married soon in order to remain safe from diseases and misdeeds. The most important issue in choosing of spouses is modesty, morals and humanity. Money, beauty and caste should not be given much importance – more than need. However these are good points but they are the next priorities,” he added more.

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan underlined, “Consultation is must in marriage; a marriage without just consultation has no future. Forcing daughters to marry someone without getting their view is against Sunnah and Shari’ah. As well as, women are ordered to not choose husbands without coordination and approval of parents and guardians. They should not talk with non-mahram (strange) men.”

At the end of his speech, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid called on Muslims to be alert over the serious conditions of the world and conspiracies to spread nudity and immodesty among Muslim societies.

Frontier markets must be reactivated
In another part of his sermon, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid welcomed the DG of Ta’zeerat of Sistan-Baluchistan and said, “Reactivation of frontier markets is in accordance with the interests of indigenous people. Making free the trade at borders of Mirjaveh and other frontier markets is the need of people. Free trade and activation of such bazaars benefit the people live in border areas.”

“It has been experienced that by crackdown on legal ways of business, black markets and smuggling would be boosted. Freedom of people in trade and business decreases insecurity, corruption and the tendencies to break laws; however citizens should be abided with the rules and regulations.”

He ended his points by decrying bombings in Beirut that left dozens dead and injured on Thursday 12th Nov. 2015.
