Shaikh Abdol-Hamid Isma’eelzahi, the outstanding Sunni leader in Iran, denounced the recent wave of Israeli assaults on Gaza calling it ‘barbaric’ and ‘inhumane’.
Talking to tens of thousands worshippers on Friday, 18 July 2014 in Zahedan, he said, “The sinister Zionist regime of Israel assaults Gaza from air, sea and ground by heavy machine guns. The occupying regime kills defendless and fasting people of Gaza ruthlessly in an unequal conflict.”
Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan, Iran, termed Israel a ‘hundred percent terrorist regime’ and said more, “Israel is an absolute insane and terrorist regime. If anyone does not declare Israel a ‘terrorist’, then he is a liar in his claim of counter terrorism campaign. All international powers, organizations including the UN must play their role to stop genocide of Palestinians by the criminal regime of Israel.”
The eminent Islamic scholar urged emersion of some terrorist and extremist groups was the result of “Israel’s aggressions”. He added more, “In my viewpoint, the wave of Islamic awakening in the world is the fruit of Israeli aggression and cruelty on the people of Palestine. The arrogant powers cannot see Muslims aware of their religion and rights; it is very bitter for them. In the same way, most of the extremist groups were emerged after the unjustified crimes of Israel. The first suicide attacks in the region were carried out in Palestine. When nobody listens to the Palestinian nation, their land is occupied, they do not see any justice and they lose their lives and homes ruthlessly day and night, then only more violence is the result.”
The rector of Darululoom Zahedan urged the security of the world depends on the issue of Palestine. If the international community including the US, Europe and even Israel itself want to remain safe and secured, then resolving the crisis in Palestine is the only remedy. I think the best way to fight with extremism and so called international terrorism, liberation of occupied lands of Palestine, establishment of an independent government in Palestine and stop of Muslims’ massacre.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid called on the audience to take part in the anti-Zionism rally on the last Friday of Ramadan.
In another part of his speech, Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah alluded to the martyrdom anniversary of the fourth caliph, Ali bin Abi-Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, reminding some features of this great companion of the beloved prophet, peace be upon him.
“Ali, may Allah be pleased him, is one of the best examples for all Muslims around the world in piety, morals, faith and brevity. There is no any Muslim in the world who does not love Ali. He showed his bravery and manhood in the event of Khaybar. He was not fond of power and rule as he told people after being Caliph of Muslims that only implementation of justice was the motivation of sitting on the chair of caliphate,” the member of the IUMS underlined.
He concluded his points by saying, “Respect and love of Ali and all households of the prophet, peace be upon him, are parts of Sunnis’ faith. All Sunnis respect and love Ali, Fatimah and their children, may Allah be pleased with all of them. When we love them, we must act upon their directions for personal and social life.”
