Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid alluded to the ongoing changes take place in the Muslim world and urged on fighting with the “main reason” of extremism, counting “dialogue” and “recognition of others’ rights” the only solution.

Talking to tens of thousands worshippers in Zahedan on Friday 13 June, 2014, Khateeb of Sunnis said, “In many regions people suffer from armed disputes and clashes; both Shia and Sunni communities have been exhausted from extremism. In each day passes, some people face damages in such violent acts.”

Pointing out to the solution of the ongoing disputes and differences, he said, “Certainly, each dispute has causes and motives; we can find out the cause of ‘Takfir’ and ‘extremism’. First of all, the causes should be removed then the achievement will be ideal. The only solution is dialogue and recognizing the rights of each other. All rival groups should sit together, recognize each other and realize the rights of their opponents.”

The member of the IUMS further said, “Violence and killing people are not appropriate solution to get rid of disputes and contentions. Violence produces more violence with more damages. Rival groups and parties in Syria, Iraq and other countries should sit together to find out any durable solution. Muslims should utilize their potentials and powers to resolve their problems. The international powers pursue only their own interests and the security of Israel. Disputes of Muslims are in accordance with the interests of the sinister Israeli regime and arrogant powers.”

Alluding to the influence of Iran in the region, he suggested the Iranian rulers to be pioneers in bringing peace by peaceful ways. Shaikh went on to say, “The influential Muslim states should play their role to resolve the disputes and stop clashes. The way for dialogue and bringing rivals around negotiation table should be paved. We suggest and expect the Islamic Republic of Iran to help for creating a good environment for dialogue and support negotiations. Muslim scholars and thinkers also should play their role as much as they can. We are also ready to share our support and energy for this process according to our abilities.”

The Iranian nation preferred temperance and dialogue on 14 June 2013
In another part of his speech, Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan pointed out to the first anniversary of the President Rouhani’s victory in the Iranian presidential election in June 2013. He said the high turnout in the last election made all aback and surprised. It was out of expectation that Dr. Rouhani would win in the election.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid added more, “The great Iranian nation delineated its route in June 14, 2013. The vote to Rouhani was a vote in favor of temperance, discretion and dialogue. Before the election, all candidates presented their plans, but the majority of people elected Mr. Rouhani as a president to see an end of discrimination and all groups and communities get their due rights in the country.”

“We want the president to pursue the national and international issues by dialogue strongly. He is expected to bring his promises, he made during election campaign, into action. Certainly, the president has very heavy responsibilities to fulfil his promises and realize the demands of different communities. People also should support the president and government in order to make easy the duties of them. The government can easily fulfil the promises if we support it,” the rector of Darululoom Zahedan underlined.

He said the nation support the nuclear stances of the government in nuclear talks. The Iranian nation and government do not seek to have nuclear weapons, then why they should face sanctions? The officials must remove the sanctions by discretion, rationale and making clear everything.

Attack on pilgrims in Taftan was shocking
Sunnis’ Khateeb in Zahedan condemned the deadly attack on Shia pilgrims in the frontier Pakistani city of Taftan, terming it a ‘shocking’ incident.

“The question is that what was the fault of them? Why it was necessary to kill them? Who could issue fatwa for their mass killing? They were simple pilgrims; if they did anything good or bad, they themselves would bear its fruits. It does not matter the culprits behind this dangerous crime. May Allah guide these ignorant people; if it is not in their destination, then may Allah protect us from their acts,” he added more.

At the end of his speech, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid welcomed Dr. Sadeq Zibakalam, a professor at Tehran University, who took part in the Friday gathering of Sunni citizens in Zahedan and mentioned him one of the elite educated men of the country.
