Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid Isma’eelzahi, termed the noble Qur’an the best remembrance of Allah that is a guiding worship.

He started his sermon of Feb. 21, 2014 by the Qur’anic verse: «إِنَّ هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ يِهْدِي لِلَّتِي هِيَ أَقْوَمُ وَيُبَشِّرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ الصَّالِحَاتِ أَنَّ لَهُمْ أَجْرًا كَبِيرًا» [اسراء: 9], (Surely, this Qur’an guides to something that is most straight forward, and gives glad tidings to the believers who do good deeds that ready for them there is a great reward.) and said, “The Noble Qur’an has been sent down by the Almighty to be the best law and a source of guidance.”

“If Muslims carry out the directions of the Noble Qur’an and Sunnah completely, they will be prosperous in the both worlds. The history is evidence that Muslims were pioneers in the world when they were close to the Qur’an and the beloved prophet, peace be upon him, was their example in life,” Shaikh Abdol-Hamid underlined.

He further said, “In those times, Muslim nations shined in the sky without any rival; they were the best exercising Muslims. They were avoiding sins like taking usury, bribery and telling lie. Muslims had no illegal income. Honest, truthful and righteous Muslims had the best and highest civilization due to the Noble Qur’an and Sunnah.”

Alluding to Muslims’ ups and downs in the past, the rector of Darululoom Zahedan stated, “Muslims’ degeneration began when they neglected the perfect religion of Allah, Islam, and got involved in misdeeds and illicit wills of the self. It is the reason Muslims lost their spiritual wealth and faced ignominy.”

He emphasized that the Noble Qur’an was not made and sent by human beings; it is the collection of the divine laws. It is the best remembrance (Afdhal-udhikr) and its recitation is the cause of guidance. It shows mankind the best morals, characters and deeds. It says ‘backbiting’ is Haram, illegal in Islam, so all should avoid backbiting.

Pointing out to the meaning of backbiting, Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan said, “Once the companions, may Allah be pleased with them, asked the last messenger of Allah that if there is any blot and deformation with somebody and we mention it; is it backbiting? He, peace and blessings be upon him, replied that if there is any blot, it is backbiting. Otherwise, it is vilification that is a bigger sin.”

“I advise all Muslims, including students, teachers, traders, soldiers, officers and people from different classes to recite the Noble Qur’an constantly. Huffadh, the memorizers of the Qur’an should recite this great book in Tahajjud prayers in particular. It is the factor of development and prosperity,” Shaikh-ul-Islam said.

Urging on Islamic veil, Hijab, he said, “Muslim men and women must take care of Hijab and modesty. It is very vital to avoid ogle and misuse of the internet and satellite TV channels. Never go near of such sins as the Qur’an enjoins us.”

At the end of his speech, the prominent Sunni A’lim alluded to the 15th national book fair in Zahedan held by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. He thanked the ministry and welcomed publishers for their presence in the book fair and made Du’a for them to preach Islamic culture in the society.
