The eminent Sunni scholar, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid, termed ‘wide’ places for offering prayers the ‘indisputable’ right of Sunnis in the capital Tehran on Wednesday, 25 Dec. 2013.

Dozens of Sunni citizens from different backgrounds gathered yesterday in the prayer room of “Niyayesh” in Tehran to listen the public speech of Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan, Iran.

In a part of his sermon, he expressed his satisfaction from the ongoing atmosphere of the country, saying, “All praises due to the Most High, there is the atmosphere of dialogue in the country now; the officials listen the voice of the people and pay attention to the legal and due rights of the people.”

The Sunni scholar said more, “It is a good point that the government of Dr. Rouhani shows its eagerness to implement the constitution completely stopping the illegal acts and behavior of some official departments.”

The member of the International Union for Muslim Scholars expressed his wish for the Sunni residents of Tehran, saying, “I hope soon you will see a wide and big place to offer prayers. Allah will reward us such a vast place if we act on our duties and make Du’as. The officials also must realize this is the legal and indisputable right of Sunnis.”

In the first part of his sermon, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid called on the audience in one of the prayer rooms of Sunnis in Tehran to offer prayers on time and never show any negligence in this regard. He said, “We, as Muslims, should build and beautify our lives by the establishment of prayers on time. Prayer is the key of resolving all problems. Remember Allah anywhere and anytime.”

This gathering of Sunnis, in a small room but with a large number of the audience, finished by the pray of Shaikh-ul-Islam to Allah Almighty and tears of the oppressed Sunni citizens. At the end, the scholars, political and academia activists and youth citizens who reached there from different locations met with their leader directly. Many of them could not sit over the meeting due to the shortage of place standing on stairs and outside of the room in the cold weather.
