Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan expressed his concerns over the outbreak of various kinds of misdeeds in Muslim societies counting ‘negligence’ the root cause of people’s courage to commit sins.

Shaikh-us-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid was talking to tens of thousands worshippers in the southeastern city of Zahedan in Iran on Friday, 20 Dec. 2013.

He began his Friday sermon by the noble Qur’anic verse: «و ما هذه الدنیا إلا لهو و لعب و ان الدار الاخرة لهی الحیوان لو کانوا یعلمون», (This worldly life is nothing but an amusement and play, and the Last Abode is the real life indeed. Only if they know!). He then said, “Unfortunately, most of the people from different cults and classes suffer from the serious disease of ‘negligence’. No one can deny this fact; even some scholars and Ulama suffer from it. People do not pay attention to their duties and works they must carry out them. Negligence means to leave the straight path which leads to the Paradise.”

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan pointed, “When someone forgets his Lord and Creator, it proves he has been affected by the disease of negligence. This widespread dire phenomenon is very fatal. A real Muslim never forgets Allah the Sublime.”

He alluded to the source and origin of negligence and said people are always busy in deeds and thoughts relate to their life and income; it has taken the most part of people’s days and nights. They think and talk about their life and whatever matters to their money and wealth. Thus, they have no time for thinking on the Resurrection Day and mentioning Allah by tongue. People’s faith and beliefs are as weak as they cannot remember Allah. People meditate on their incomes and economy everywhere; in markets, homes, shops and even Masjid. When they stand to offer prayers, their minds are absent; they roam around their money matters.

The eminent Islamic scholar counted ‘negligence’ the basic cause of people’s courage to commit sins carelessly. If you see different sorts of sins and misdeeds prevailed in the society, that is only due to negligence. Criminals do not remember Allah; therefore they commit big crimes. Some people violate the orders of Allah as if He does not see them or He cannot punish them! But He sees everything, everywhere and every time. When Allah punishes, He does not show any mercy.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid went on to say more, “We must take care of our deeds and words. As we make plans for the best possible future of our children and our own lives, we must plan for the everlasting life that comes after death. If there is any discussion about the routine life and worldly issues, we should mention the name of Allah too. Never forget the grave, Judgment Day and death. Otherwise we would regret why we did not mention the name of Allah as the people in the heaven regret. His remembrance should be the beauty of every meeting.”

Pointing out to an important issue, Khateeb of Sunnis said, “Islam does not ask you to leave your worldly life completely and always think on the eternal life; the perfect and comprehensive religion of Allah wants us to make both of our mortal and immortal lives good. Human beings have been blessed the talent to develop and enhance the both worlds. A true Muslim does not consider his faith and ritual worships any obstacle on the way of modern sciences and development; s/he gets the knowledge of the modern world and also worships his/her one Lord, beautifies the morals and never neglects the upcoming immortal life. Such believers are perfect Muslims and they can meet calmness and satisfaction in the both lives and worlds.”

Concluding the first part of his sermon, Shaikh called on the audience to gain the pleasure of Allah that is the greatest prosperity. He said by offering prayers on time and imitating the rest of commands of Allah, a person can be prosperous.

Our People Oppose Violence Firmly

Shaikh Isma’eelzahi condemned the attack on some border guards of Iran in the last week in the second part of his speech.

He said, “In the last week three personnel of the border guards lost their lives in a roadside bomb attack near Saravan; it is a describe act. All, including scholars, tribal elders, educated class and others, oppose violence in our province. We never favor violent actions.”

Shaikh underlined people of Sistan-Baluchistan want stability and peace in their region. They look for more fraternity and development of their province. The government of “hope and discretion” is going to take the issue of developmental projects seriously. The people support it too by good suggestions and consultations.

The eminent Islamic scholar concluded his points by saying, “It is a good point that the new officials want to resolve the problems and progress the province with the help of people and their counsel. In such circumstances, we need more security and peace in the region. We hope there would not be any sort of insecurity, people get durable peace and solidarity in a sooner future.”
