In a meeting with the Special Assistant to the President of Iran on ethnic and religious minorities, Ali Younesi, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid Isma’eelzahi urged on the adherence to the national constitution by all. He termed execution of justice and equality the main demands and concerns of religious and ethnic minorities of Iran.

“SunniOnline” reported Shaikh Abdol-Hamid took part in a public meeting with the Special Assistant to the president, Ali Younesi, in the governor house of Sistan-Baluchistan yesterday, Dec. 21, 2013.

Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan underlined the people of Sistan-Baluchistan were ‘patient, honorable and hospitable’. He said, “As our province is vast geographically, the chests of our people great too. They love Islam and respect others. In the same way, they love their motherland. Fraternity, unity and solidarity rule among the people of Sistan-Baluchistan.”

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid reminded the audience, saying people of Sistan-Baluchistan always take part in national events such as elections. The highest officials call the people of this province ‘brave margraves. Dr. Rouhani got the biggest percentage of the votes in the recent presidential elections in Sistan-Baluchistan; although the people were not aware of him and his personal life much. But they welcomed his motion and ambitions for the nation.

Alluding to the demands of the Iranian nation from the president, the outstanding Sunni leader said, “The fair implementation of the constitution with its all Articles has been the most important demand of the nation since the very first day of the Revolution. Nobody should be allowed to violate the rule of law and none of officials and common people can impose his personal ideas and wishes on others. Although the current constitution has been formed by ‘human beings’ and there are some modifiable defects, but it is one of the best constitutions. We do not want anyone to behave with us according to his ideas and personal views above the law.”

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan mentioned the expectations of people from the Special Assistant to the president on ethnic and religious minorities in the gathering inside the governor house of Sistan-Baluchistan. He underlined, “The concerns of people are about their rights; they want an equal behavior inside the country. The execution of justice is the main demand of ethnic and religious minorities. We all believe that unity cannot be obtained by slogans; implementation of justice and removing discriminations can ensure national unity.”

He added more, “We think the regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been established on some Islamic principles; ‘justice’ is very important in Islam. Many of the Islamic sects consider justice obligatory and Shia Muslims took it one of the ‘principles of the religion’. This regime has been established to execute justice; it will be a reasonable demand to be just then.”

The chairman of the Coordination Council of Sunni Seminaries in Sistan-Baluchistan pointed out to the deep seated brotherhood of different communities live in the province, saying the Sunni and Baluch citizens who have been living here for centuries wish to see equality; as they are working next to the settlers in ranches, they want to be with them in offices and official departments too.

“The government of ‘hope and discretion’ can make fraternity durable in different corners of the country when it brings Sunnis and Shias together. Different ethnic and religious communities can enjoy a strong unity when they protect the sovereignty of their country in one parapet. We all belong to Iran and this country is for all citizens; our forefathers gave sacrifices for this country,” Shaikh made it clear.

The prominent Sunni leader said, “We urge on the execution of justice because it ensures the ‘wholehearted’ unity. By equality and impartiality ‘sympathy’ among the people would be boosted. We hope the environment of depravation and breach would be changed to truthfulness.”
He criticized some insulting media sources in the country, saying still some media sources insult many religious sects and personalities; we hope the officials will take serious actions against them and all media men will work legally.

Addressing the Special Assistant to the president on ethnic and religious minorities, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said, “Convey the message of our people including scholars, students, tribal elders, traders and academians to the officials in the capital that they oppose violence and insecurity. They will not allow the US, NATO and other elements to take the revenge of their defeats in other countries from us. Reciprocally, the government should have more regards to the people of Sistan-Baluchistan.”

At the end of his speech before dozens of higher officials, social elders and scholars from different backgrounds in the governor house, Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah in Zahedan, Iran, said, “The residents of Sistan-Baluchistan should be united; unless they are not united, they would not see the face of development and progress. So they must tolerate each other. The worldly posts and positions have no any value; friendship, love and truthfulness are the valuable things.”
