The outstanding Sunni leader, Shaikh Ab. Hamid, has called on the government of Dr. Hassan Rouhani, Iranian moderate president, to ignore the pressures of the extremist sides over marginalizing the Iranian Sunni community.

Talking to tens of thousands worshippers during the Friday sermon in Zahedan, southeastern Iran, he said, “Some changes in the management of the province, Sistan-Baluchistan, and its capital city have taken place; the new governor, city mayor and provincial director of the Intelligence Ministry have begun their routine activities. All of these three seem to be sane, experienced and knowledgeable; it is a big achievement for the government of ‘hope and discretion’.”

Khateeb of Sunnis expressed his concerns over the role of some pro-regime fanatic elements and said that some people don’t want to see capable Sunni citizens holding offices; these extremist sides put pressure on the government of Mr. Rouhani to not appoint any Sunni citizen for high pots.

“It is very marvelous to see some creatures of the Lord who do not want development of anyone but their fellows in sect, party and community. They cannot bear their rivals. In fact, such groups do not believe in truth and justice but they think they are on the path of Allah; they should know well they are extremists. Fanatic elements always harm Islam and even their own sect more than any other enemy,” Shaikh Isma’eelzahi underlined.

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan further said, “In any part of the world we witness sectarian clashes which are provoked by the fanatic groups and individuals who do not enjoy any broad sight to see all and endure the colorful societies.”

“The correct idea, that is the order of Allah Almighty and His last messenger too, is to have a broad chest and wide sight.”

The chairman of the Coordination Council of Sunni Seminaries in Sistan-Baluchistan added more, “We request the president to ignore any kind of pressure of the fanatic elements. Submission before such narrow-minded people harms fraternity of the Shia and Sunni communities. These are the groups who did not leave any stone unturned to defeat Dr. Hassan Rouhani during election; they opposed Mr. Rouhani because he is a moderate man. These elements do not believe in sobriety and moderation. So we expect the government would ignore their suggestions hence.”

Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan said, “The supreme leader is requested to support the new government in order to enable it to fulfill its promises. The new government has promised to remove all sorts of discriminations and provide the ethnic and religious communities their due rights. If the leader ensures his support, the fanatic elements would fail in their goal as they want to remove the Sunni community –the second largest community in Iran after Shias- from participating in the fate of their motherland.”

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid urged on equality on the high level of the country. He said it is justice that ensures unity, national solidarity, security and peace of the country. When rulers implement justice regardless to the tenets and sect of the people, they would get the unseen supports of Allah Almighty plus His pleasure.
