Following statement of the ‘insulting’ association affiliated with the mobile phone network operator, Irancell, to apologize to the Sunni community of Iran, office of Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hameed issued a statement in this regard on Sunday, July 21, 2013.
“It is a good achievement that the blasphemous association affiliated with Irancell network apologized officially over insulting Omar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, following the continuous efforts of the campaign of boycotting Irancell in the virtual world, protest of Sunni scholars, students, academic individuals, MPs and other classes of the society. We should protect this great achievement.”
In another part of the statement, the office of the rector of Darululoom Zahedan considered this incident a ‘flick’ for the rest of organizations, companies, media and groups to avoid insulting sanctities of any sect and religion.
“As we decried insult of Sayyidana Omar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, we welcome apology of the company too. We appreciate the step of public prosecutor of Zahedan in the impeachment of the company. We are waiting to see the result of the trial,” the statement adds.
The office of Shaikh Abdol-Hameed asked Sunni citizens, owners of websites, media sources and campaigners to accept the apology of the association as ‘Irancell’ promised not to repeat such blunders. All were the result of peaceful protest that is the civil right of the people. Protection of this achievement depends on the respect of the law and avoiding extremes. Sunni Muslims of Iran have proved by this beatific movement that it is possible to convey their voice to authorities by peaceful and legal tools.
