The leading Sunni scholar, Shaikh Abdol-Hameed Isma’eelzahi met the president-elect, Dr. Hassan Rohani, in Tehran on Saturday, June 22, 2013.
According to some local news agencies, the two top leaders discussed some mutual interesting affairs including the situation of the Sunni community in Iran and the Muslim world.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, the member of the International Union for Muslim Scholars stated, “We have discussed current issues of the country as well as regional and world issues, particularly Muslim world problems.”
It should be noted Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hameed has been to Tehran for meeting some officials, Sunni influential leaders and other common citizens. He has expressed his views on the current and upcoming circumstances of the country and the Muslim world in exclusive interviews with some national newspapers and international news portals.
This meeting took place in the Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Discernment Council of Iran.
