Shaikh Abdol-Hameed Isma’eelzahi urged in his recent Friday speech on strengthening of faith to overcome the weakness in deeds as Muslims suffer from weakness of deeds dominantly around the world.
Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hameed Isma’eelzahi began his latest Friday sermon of May 24, 2013 by reciting the noble Qur’anic verse: «فَمَن كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاء رَبِّهِ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا وَلَا يُشْرِكْ بِعِبَادَةِ رَبِّهِ أَحَدًا» [کهف: 110], (And whoever hoped for the meeting with his Lord, let him do righteous work, and make none sharer of the worship due unto his Lord.) and said, “Muslim masses of the current era suffer from negligence in deeds; it is also clear they have weaknesses in the fields of science and knowledge. There are many Islamic subjects and sciences which are unknown for Muslims. But it is obvious weakness in deeds is more prevalent than the weakness of knowledge.”
Many of Muslims know well the rules and regulations of Shari’ah about something but they do not carry them out to please the Almighty. We witness how people violate each others’ rights committing different kinds of sins; Muslims know what they are doing, still they do not stop. All Muslims know well ‘backbiting’, ‘robbery’ and other misdeeds are sins; these acts are illegal and Haram in Islam undoubtedly. Allah the Exalted and His last messenger strongly forbade people from such misdeeds, he added more.
The rector of Darululoom Zahedan went on to say more, “When a Muslim commits adultery, s/he is not ignorant about this big sin and disobeying of Allah. Fornication is an overt immodesty and big sin; the Almighty wants to punish His sinful servants on the spot but this world is a place for examination. Allah is very patient; He awaits His servants to repent.”
Mawlana Abdol-Hameed further said unfortunately Muslim masses show negligence to carry out obligatory acts; many of them do not offer prayers, some others establish Salah without humility. People do not pay Zakah or they pay it defectively. There are violations of human rights as well. The root cause of weakness in deeds is the weak faith. Rarely people take care of piety and fear of Allah. Tenets have been unstable and weak.
Muslims believe in the Resurrection Day and horrible conditions of the grave but their weak belief takes them away from avoidance of sins. A weak faith does not bring any big change in life. Unless faith is not strong, negligence in deeds can not be eradicated. Muslims of the early era, Sahabah and Taabe’een had a strong faith on Allah and His promises; thus they used to obey Him constantly, he urged.
Concluding the first part of his speech, Shaikh underlined, “The divine punishment is not bearable, so all must create a firm connection with Allah, strengthen faith, recite the Noble Qur’an with meditation and take the advantage of life for worshipping and obeying Allah.”
Shaikh-ul-Islam criticizes GC over disapproval of presidential candidates
In the second part of his speech, the leading Iranian Sunni scholar criticized the role of the Guardian Council in vetting hopefuls for presidential election.
Alluding to the issue of disqualification of candidates in Iran, he stated, “The issue of hopefuls who have been disapproved by the Guardian Council is the top and hot subject of the country; as a dutiful citizen I have to share my opinions in this regard honestly.”
Friday Imam of Sunni Muslims in Zahedan pointed out Iran has been facing a very hard time with lots of crises. People hoped the top constitutional supervisory body, the Guardian Council, would take the matter of approving open-mindedly. But the statement of the council over approval proves that still disturbances roam around.
Showing reaction on disqualification of the farmer president, Mr. Hashemi Rafsanjani, by the Guardian Council, Shaikh Isma’eelzahi underlined, “Ayatollah Hashemi is one of the famous national and evolutional personalities of Iran; many of people know this politician well inside and outside of the country. He has been disqualified by the GC.”
The nation was hopeful a man would take their problems seriously as they have been suffering from various crises. People want a man to take power and decrease the severity of the political and economical crises of them. I said previously politics and economy had been entangled; economical crises can be eradicated only by political amendments, he added more.
The outstanding member of the International Union of Muslim Scholars said that the disapproval of Mr. Hashemi Rafsanjani has made a big part of the nation worried. Although there were some mistakes and criticisms on the performance of Mr. Rafsanjani in his term of presidency; but it seems he has experienced some changes in the recent years. It was expected he would face challenges in a better way to get the country out of the current crises.
Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah concluded his points by saying the authorized sides and members of the Guardian Council in particular would review their decision.
All Muslim cults respect Ali bin Abi-Talib unanimously
The prominent Sunni scholar mentioned the birth anniversary of the fourth caliph, Ali bin Abi-Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, introducing him ‘an ideal for all Muslims’. He said that Ali was an excellent companion of the Holy Prophet, peace & blessings be upon him, who is respectable for all Muslim sects. Muslims consider him an excellent example to follow. Ahl-us-Sunnah believe unanimously, Ali was a unique servant of Allah in piety and faith.
Khateeb of Sunni Muslims in Zahedan emphasized that all companions of the last messenger were beloved and respectable for Sunnis as they consider them patterns and best examples for imitation.
At the end of his sermon, Shaikh Abdol-Hameed announced the annual ceremony of Darululoom Zahedan’s graduates will be held on June 6, 2013 asking people to take part in the gathering with full zeal and zest.
