The 12th national Qur’anic competition for hifdh and qiraah (memorization and recitation of the Qur’an) has been held in Darululoom Zahedan, Iran, where Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah talked to the audience in the final session of the function.
The final meeting was initiated on Thursday morning (Feb. 14) inside the Grand Makki Masjid, next to the seminary.
Shaikh-ul-Hadith of Darululoom, Shaikh Abdol-Hameed Ismaeelzahi, presented his discourse before dozens of participants over the importance of reciting the Noble Qur’an and its divine and blessed directions.
He began his points by reading the noble verse: “يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَاءتْكُم مَّوْعِظَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَشِفَاء لِّمَا فِي الصُّدُورِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ قُلْ بِفَضْلِ اللّهِ وَبِرَحْمَتِهِ فَبِذَلِكَ فَلْيَفْرَحُواْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ”، (O mankind, there has come to you an advice from your Lord, and a cure for the ailments of your hearts, and guidance and mercy for the believers. Say, with the grace of Allah and with His mercy (this book has been revealed). So they should rejoice in it. It is much better than that (wealth) which they accumulate.) [10: 58-59]
He underlined the main object of such meetings is to gain Allah’s pleasure and to be more familiar with the Qur’an.
The chairman of the Coordination Council of Sunni Seminaries of Sistan-Baluchistan stated:
*We believe all powers and worldly tools are nothing comparing with the blessings of the noble Qur’an.
*If others feel proud of their ancestors, we are proud of the noble Qur’an and brilliant teachings of Holy Prophet, peace be upon him.
*If people present their poems, prose and rhymes, we hold the Qur’an.
*We challenge singers by best sounds of Qurra of the noble Qur’an.
Shaikh Ismaeelzahi addressed reciters of the Qur’an advising them to maintain reading the Qur’an all the time. He said you must not be limited to some functions and gatherings; the noble Qur’an should be read always. If in some areas, there is ‘sensitivity’ about holding Qur’anic gatherings, we can organize them on local levels.
Welcome speech
In the inaugural meeting of the 12th National Qur’anic Competition of Sunnis in Iran, Shaikh Abdol-Hameed thanked the attendees over participation in the Qur’anic activities.
He urged holding such meetings catch Allah Exalted’s mercy and special blessings. It is one of the good deeds which have been urged to be followed and competed for gaining them. Allah says: “Strive, then, to excel each other in good deeds.” [5: 48].
Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah added more that the noble Qur’an is an everlasting miracle of the prophet Muhammad, peace & blessings be upon him, that is an obvious evidence for Islam’s rightfulness. The noble Qur’an is the only tool for the salvation of mankind. Ignorance can be wiped out only via the Qur’an.
