Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah in Zahedan, Shaikh Abdol-Hameed Ismaeelzahi, started his recent Friday sermon on 14th December, 2012 by reading the noble Qur’anic verse: «لاَّ خَيْرَ فِي كَثِيرٍ مِّن نَّجْوَاهُمْ إِلاَّ مَنْ أَمَرَ بِصَدَقَةٍ أَوْ مَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ إِصْلاَحٍ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ ابْتَغَاء مَرْضَاتِ اللّهِ فَسَوْفَ نُؤْتِيهِ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا» [النساء: 114], (There is no good in most of their whisperings, unless one bids charity or a fair action, or reconciliation between people. The one who does this, to seek Allah‘s pleasure, We shall give him a great reward.)
Talking to tens o thousands in the Grand Makki Masjid, Shaikh urged, “Allah Almighty has bestowed Muslims the noble blessing of the Qur’an and its productive teachings. If we bow down for prostration throughout the whole life, yet we can not thank Allah fully for His great blessing. Muslims are fortunate for enjoying the brilliant directions of the Qur’an and Islam. These teachings guide us over the entire routine life.”
A Muslim should be all the time thoughtful how to save others and reform their lives, as the Qur’an suggests. The above-recited verse orders Muslims to maintain their unity and power; they need to protect their identity via three points: the first one is “secret talks”. Most of people talk secretly when they plan for any bad action; some manage plans to destabilize Islam. Secret talk is good and acceptable only for three things; 1. Donating on the path of Allah, 2. Good talks, 3. Reconciliation among people, he added more.
In the light of the Qur’anic verse, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdul-Hameed stated Allah Exalted underlined in many places to spend money and wealth in His path. The repeated emphases prove those who do not donate, there is no any good feature inside their lives. If somebody enjoys all the good deeds but generosity, s/he loses a huge thing in his/her social life. Donation for the sake of Allah purifies the soul of folks; it removes malignity like stinginess and love of money.
The rector of Darululoom Zahedan went on to expound the part of the Qur’anic verse: «أو معروف» saying advising others to offer prayers is one of the best features of invitation towards good deeds. For this, there can be secret talks and secret meetings with neglectful people. Unfortunately, some people sit before their TV sets watching different channels for a long time at nights, then they can not wake up to offer Fajr prayers. Muslims must establish prayers on the time wherever they are; in homes, offices and other public places.
Pointing out to the importance of prayers (Namaz), he said it is one of the most important parts of invitation of people to good deeds.
Khateeb of Sunnis emphasized that Muslims’ solidarity depends on prayers (Salah). It forbids people from sins and saves from defeat. Salah is spun with the tenet of Tawhid; when a Muslim misses prayers, it affects his/her faith. It is regrettable that many of Muslims do not go to Masjids for establishing prayers. When Muslims meet each others, they should advise for prayers. It saves Muslims’ unity and their identity; they will not be merged in strange cultures. Some people say that they offer prayers, and do not have any thing with others; it is wrong! We should preach others and call on them to offer prayers as well.
Alluding to the third point mentioned in the verse, the leading man of the Sunni community said, “It has been praised to take away scraps of people. Some disagreements end up with tribal disputes; a small number of people work hard to intercede between rival sides. Further more, some folks add fuel to the fire of clash instead! Islam discourages grump and urges on reconciliation. It is illegal, Haram, to huff more than three days.”
He pointed out to another issue derived from the verse, saying all good deeds and worships must be only for the sake of Allah Almighty not to get points and attention of people. Good deeds are acceptable when they are carried out for His pleasure. All commands of Islam are like body; the soul is purity. When Muslims carry out worships with pure intentions, they would be more powerful.
Iranian authorities should intervene to oust Bashar al-Assad
In the second part of his Friday speech, the outstanding Sunni leader alluded to the wave of Islamism across the globe stating, “Praise is due to Allah, a huge number of people wants Islam now-a-days; out of expectation, we listen the voice of “Allah-u-Akbar” from other places. May Allah liberate Palestine and al-Quds completely.”
Pointing out to the ongoing changes take place in Syria, Khateeb of Sunnis said, “I want to advise the Iranian rulers and authorities over the current alterations of Syria. Most parts of this country have been taken over by the Syrian opposition, and the majority of nations around the world recognized the leading opposition bloc as the legitimate representative of Syrian nation. On the other side, Russia, the main supporter of Bashar al-Assad admitted it is very possible opposition fighters to achieve victory. Days of Bashar al-Assad are counted; so I would like to recommend Iranian rulers to intercede and ask Mr. al-Assad to resign. He should stop the bloodshed and demolition of Syria.”
“I believe, this move of Iran would bring Allah’s pleasure firstly, and it would protect our national interests in Syria. Iranian nation has some interests in Damascus; Iran must take useful steps to preserve them,” the member of the IUMS underlined.
Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah added more saying Iran has been supporting the crumbling regime of al-Assad; if the authorities play a good role to oust Bashar al-Assad, it will have positive effects in the Muslim and Arab world. This motion may save the national interests of Iran in future.
