The security authorities have banned the outstanding Sunni leader, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hameed, from the spiritual trip of Hajj, Muslim pilgrimage.

The Official Website of Shaikh Ismaeelzahi’s office reported Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah was informed by some security officials that he could travel to Saudi Arabia for Hajj in 2012; but due to some obstacles Shaikh could not get visa for Hajj.

According to the details, Shaikh Abdol-Hameed, the senior member of the IUMS, made a trip to Tehran to get his passport for Hajj, as the Iranian officials had promised to give him permission for the spiritual journey of Hajj. But they retuned Shaikh’s passport after closure of the legal time for issuing Hajj visa in the Saudi embassies and consulates last Wednesday 17th Oct.

The passports of many Sunni scholars including Shaikh Abdol-Hameed were confiscated three years ago by the security authorities.

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan arrived at 20.45 [local time] to the airport of Zahedan where he was received warmly by hundreds of citizens chanting “Allah-o-Akbar” to show their love to holy cities of Makkah and Medina.

It is noteworthy that Shaikh Abdol-Hameed reached to the airport without informing the citizens; despite it, people gathered in the lounge of the airport to welcome their Imam. The ban on Shaikh Ismaeelzahi’s travel for Hajj wounded the feelings of people as they show their anxiety over the incident.

Some credible reports confirm that some other Sunni dignitaries have been stopped from Hajj and Tamattu’ of this year as well.
