Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah in Zahedan, Shaikh Abdol-Hameed Ismaeelzahi, talked of justice and equanimity in his latest Friday discourse on 24 August 2012.
He started his sermon by recitation of the Holy verse:  “یٰۤاَیُّہَا الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا کُوۡنُوۡا قَوّٰمِیۡنَ بِالۡقِسۡطِ شُہَدَآءَ لِلّٰہِ وَ لَوۡ عَلٰۤی اَنۡفُسِکُمۡ اَوِ الۡوَالِدَیۡنِ وَ الۡاَقۡرَبِیۡنَ “, (O you who believe, be upholders of justice – witnesses for Allah, even though against (the interest of) your selves or the parents, and the kinsmen.) Saying that Holy Qur’an and all Muslim sects had urged on the importance and necessity of justice. Impartiality is obligatory in Ahl-us-Sunnah point of view; unjust people are wicked and sinful. As for as Shiite’s beliefs is concerned, justice is one of the principles of the religion. It proves the great importance of justice in Islam.
The eminent Islamic scholar went on to say, ‘It must be kept in mind that implementation of justice is not only the duty of rulers and statesmen; rather every individual should have justice in all angles of his life; s/he should start justice from him/her self. Execution of equality and justice was one of the divine aims of prophets.’
He added more saying that friendship as well as detestation must not cause injustice among Muslims; Islam has underlined on impartiality and justice even with enemies and non-Muslims. Insecurity has prevailed across the world, most of the enmities and conflicts are the bitter fruits of injustice and partiality. The world can not be peaceful without implementation of justice.
Shaikh Abdol-Hameed further said, ‘It is justice that can guarantee durable unity, fraternity and peace. Sometimes we see some elements target worshippers inside mosques or mournful people; what is the sin of grieving people? Why worshippers should not have security in mosques? Such acts are unjustified and obvious examples of injustice. Attacking innocent people in markets, mosques and other public places is Haram; there is no any justification for such cruel assaults in Shari’ah. Targeting defendless people in any country is counted in the most offensive and nefarious measures.’
Khateeb of Sunnis emphasized saying that all power-holders, judiciary and executive officials, as well as common citizens should execute justice as their ruling field. Security is looped with justice; rulers must not jeopardize peace by neglecting justice.
‘Lots of races and sects have been living in Iran side by side; the second majority of the country, the Sunni community, is determined over stability and protection of the current borders of Iran. We are against separation and division of the country. People of Baluchistan and Kurdistan along with other ethnics and sects will protect geographical frontiers of Iran,’ Mawlana Ismaeelzahi underlined.
Addressing the Iranian rulers in the biggest grand Sunni mosque of Iran, the rector of Darululoom Zahedan stated more, ‘The only thing we demand is implementation of justice. There should be equality, all sects and groups should enjoy equal rights. The rulers must pay attention to demands of masses justly. It is contrary to the teachings of Islam to give priority to some particular sects neglecting others. Wisdom and the Constitution force on scholars, officials and all responsible people to carry out justice and balance.’
The outstanding leader of the Iranian Sunnis concluded his points saying that the Sunni community of Iran was not in favor of violence, insecurity and lawbreaking. Sunnis believe that substantial and long-lasting peace and unity can be achieved only by execution of justice and equality.
‘Sobriety is the path of Exalted Allah, Holy Prophet and Qur’an; Muslim nation is the sober nation according Holy Qur’an. So they should go ahead on the way of sobriety and equanimity all the time,’ he pointed.
