The eminent Sunni scholar, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hameed Ismaeelzahi, has stated, ‘The Iranian Sunni community is not greedy for power in the country rather it wants honor and respect,’ he was talking to tens of thousands Sunnis gathered on the occasion of 21st annual graduation ceremony of Darululoom Zahedan.
He expressed his views saying that Iran was a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic country with different religions, sects, races and tendencies. All of them are Iranians. Sunnis have soft corner for all Muslims feeling positively for every human being. If Iran suffers from any sort of crises, so both Shia and Sunni would be damaged.
Talking to thousands of Sunnis, who had gathered on the 21st annual graduation ceremony of Darululoom Zahedan in the main Mosalla of Ahl-us-Sunnah in Zahedan, south-east Iran, Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah further said, ‘Fraternity is the path of Sunni Muslims in Iran; we consider it our duty. Iranian Sunnis have been striving to serve their country by giving time and soul. Considering the ongoing Islamic vigilance across the Muslim world, we hope Sunnis would get their due rights in Iran. As Shias are reality, Sunnis’ existence inside Iran is also an undeniable fact. No one can ignore this fact. Sunnis constitute the extreme majority of Muslims around the world, as Shia community is a notable sect after Sunnis. We think all ethnics in Iran should be given their legal rights without any discrimination.’
The rector of Darululoom Zahedan, the largest Sunni seminary in Iran, added more saying that demands of Sunnis were fully legal. The law and Constitution must be implemented completely. We want execution of justice and equality. According to trustable surveys, Sunni Muslims populate at least 20% of the entire population of Iran; it means they are almost 20 million. So we hope our children will have their appropriate status in their motherland; they should be employed indiscriminately.
‘Every Iranian Sunni, man and woman, demands religious freedom in all corners of Iran particularly in metropolises. This is the Islamic and legal right of Ahl-us-Sunnah to have their own mosques and seminaries and provide their children Islamic education in accordance with their principles and beliefs,’ he underlined.
The chairman of the Coordination Council of Sunni Seminaries of Sistan-Baluchistan went on to say, ‘We are not permitted to build mosque in Tehran; establishing particular mosques is the demand of the Sunni community, we will pursue this demand till the last breath. We want to worship Allah without any fear and scare, without deterring of security officials and authorities. This is the urgent demand of every Sunni citizen from the Supreme Leader and other rulers of Iran.’

Perpetrators of sacrilege Sahabah should be monitored

Pointing out to intensified incidents of blasphemy of Khulafa-e-Rashideen, the Guided Caliphates and the Companions of Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace & blessings be upon him, Shaikh Abdol-Hameed Ismaeelzahi pointed saying, ‘As Iranian citizens, we advise the Iranian rulers to take the advantage of Sunnis’ presence; they are the best tools for Muslims’ unity. You can not unite Muslims unless you please Sunnis and execute justice and parity.’
He added more saying, ‘Sunnis do not allow any one to insult Shia sacred, in response we expect no one will sacrilege Sunnis’ holy personalities specially Sahabah and the Mothers of believers, wives of Holy Prophet; those who insult Khulafa-e-Rashideen and Sahabah must be monitored to maintain peace.

Restraint of Islamic dignitaries to reach Zahedan is regrettable

Mawlana Abdol-Hameed indicated to the officials’ obstacles for some guests of the 21st graduation ceremony and further said, ‘Although the officials helped us to organize this ceremony peacefully and we are thankful to them. But we are compelled to complain of obstacles created by the officials as our some foreign and national chief guests could not participate in the annual ceremony. Before few years, some Islamic well-known dignitaries used to take part in the largest gathering of Sunnis inside Iran in Zahedan; it was very fruitful to bring Muslims near.’
He emphasized saying that it was very regrettable that many Shia scholars and rulers have not known Iranian Sunni scholars well. They are well-wishers of all, Shias, Sunnis, rulers and common people. Their criticism is for betterment of the nation; it is not destructive. ‘We want to bring Pakistani and Saudi Muslims near to the Iranian nation. The ambassador of Iran to Pakistan and Ayatollah Taskhiri, chief of the state-run Taqreeb Council, have confessed that the annual graduation ceremony of Darululoom Zahedan had helped them so much to follow their programs outside of the country,’ Shaikh pointed.
Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan urged saying, ‘The annual graduation ceremony of Darululoom Zahedan is a symbol of unity and fraternity. It is in interest of the country and Muslim world. We call on all to go towards solidarity and brotherhood, besides we criticize the governments and officials as well. We are in favor of constructive criticism, but we disagree with destructive criticism and slander, desecration and vilification; praise to Allah that we have not libeled any one yet. We hope the rulers will widen their sights over the Iranian Sunnis.’
At the end of his discourse, the chairman of the 21st graduation ceremony of Darululoom Zahedan underlined saying that the Sunni community of Iran had reached to this conclusion that they would get honor and respect only when the officials employ them in all departments so they would get chance to serve their country and protect it. The Sunnis of Iran are not greedy for power and posts, rather they are eager to have respect and honor in their country. They will contend to get honor by legal ways.
